Where is everyone, Pat hope that your surgery went well, you should be well over it by now.
When we went on holiday centrelink docked our pension for the whole 8 weeks we were away because we are not ALLOWED to go overseas for the first two years of returning! anyone would have thought that Simon had not worked here since he was 19 years of age.
I asked why and the reply was that we had not been residents for two years since coming back and this was to stop people claiming the pension and taking it overseas..... so what happened to the 37 years we were here before and citizenship etc...... o.k. so we lost it but its a bit harsh!

Pity the rules penalised you, but I remember when migrants came from
all sorts of places and as soon as they got the pension, they buggered off
home and took the money for ever more.
Maybe the rules will change for people who have a long history.
We're in El Chalten in the very south of Argentina. Off on a 6-hour walk
today. The scenery is amazing -- a lot like the Alps, but we're in the Andes.
