I have been desperately looking for the cheese fondue recipe from Captain's Steak Joynt that used to be in the Milwaukee, WI area at least 20 years ago and am wondering if anyone used to work there or knows anyone that may have that recipe. I would so appreciate it if you would share it with me! Would love to surprise my sister. It would bring back many great memories!! Thank you!

I was wondering if anyone had gotten that recipe for you. I have looked for years but no luck. If you happen to find it could you like me know? Thanks for your time : )

I'd suggest you contact the Marcus Corporation, HQ'd in Downtown Milwaukee. Captain's Steak Joynt's were founded, owned and operated by Marcus. They might have the History/Recipe, etc....

That fondue used to come premade in large containers! I remember watching them dump it in the heat units while we sat at the bar drinking a liter of beer while devouring that wonderful fondue! Oh, I miss that!

I saw a food show about 3 years ago, where they were showing different cheese and bread recipes. They mentioned very briefly Captain's Steak Joints...which were scattered through out the mid west.
For the life of me, I can't remember what it is called, but it isn't Fon Do.
I remember them talking about dytch ovens being used to make it though. My wife, and sister inlaw have been after me to find this recipe also, as we too are from Milwaukee, and that cheese and bread combo, was amazingly good with beer.
