Well, here in SE WI, we just got 7 1/2 inches of rain in 2 hours (about 2 1/2 months worth of rain). So much flooding, a major sink hole, damage etc. We have a little water in our basement, some trails. But we're also selling our house, so I hope the huge amount of rain will be taken into consideration. Nothing really got wet.

What the heck happend to recipezaar? I knew changes were happening, but I didn't expect all of this! Tried to get in here a week or so ago and couldn't. Anyways, I'm on here looking for a cheesecake recipe today. We came back to OH for a few days, they are doing a mass for all of my grandparents tomorrow, then afterward we are going out to lunch and coming back here for dessert. Barbie (it's so wierd calling her that with B's gone) has just discovered that she loves cheesecake and is insisting that is what I make! Hope your house sells quickly WIC!

It is very different here now! Had a hard time getting recipes for awhile, but things seem to be better now...
We are in Phoenix picking up a camping trailer. It's pretty warm, but not as bad as we expected. Off toward home today, with a little sightseeing on the way.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend...

Hey Cheri! Do you not go on Facebook much anymore?

We got an offer on our house, actually very clean, but too low, so we're countering and we'll see what happens.

So this weekend we're taking a breather, no showings (yet). I spent half the day making food (about 6-8 weeks worth) for the dog. He's spoiled. Going to watch Surrogates (Bruce Willis) tonight.

    Hello all -

I'm off and on Facebook. Its hard to keep track of things there...I'll try harder.

I've somehow managed to pick up a small catering job for the end of the month. It looks like it might turn into something more permanent. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not - makes me a little nervous. I have a tasting this Thursday for the event co-ordinaters. They are doing a music festival and I will be cooking for the "headliners" Yikes! And fried chicken! I have to make fried chicken for 100 people...crazy...

Last night I took spaghetti sauce and crumbled leftover meatloaf into it for the meat. Wow, was that good! I might have to make that combo on purpose from now on. icon_lol.gif

Not sure if anyone really comes on here anymore... We had to put our cat down today. He started coughing, gagging and wheezing yesterday. After 3 vet visits (and $700 later) they found that he had a tumor in his throat. He was 9 yo, so we didn't want to pursue any aggressive treatment.

Aww so sorry about your cat WIC.
Wow, rose your school starts early! We start back up Sep 1, which is about the latest I've heard of starting back up. We didn't get out until June 10 though. I just saw Barbie's class list and none of her friends are in her class this year, but a couple of the boys she had last year and only one girl from her kdg class. There is also another girl who she knows a little bit, and she is excited about being in her class. Summer went by too quickly. I can't believe my youngest is starting preschool!

Well, I'm back from our camping trip. We had a great time and I love our trailer, but I must say I'm happy to be back in my bed and in my kitchen! The first order of business will be to go grocery shopping, as I cleared out all my perishables and a significant amount of my dry goods to take camping with me. I'll just say that for a camping trip we ate very well ... escargots anyone? icon_cool.gif

Now it's time to get organised for the arrival of our international student, a 15 year-old girl from Germany; and the beginning of the school year. We'll also be camping, close to home, for the last week of the summer vacation.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Wow!! And you never said anything on FB about it! So cool. I have relatives (my mom's family) in SLC and the surrounding area. Sounds like you'll be very busy from now on. I know the restaurant business is a killer, that way.

BTW how is Alex doing this year? Paul is doing great! Almost no problems, at least no communication from the principal or teacher, yet.
