It sounds like what you're looking for is fenugreek. The Wikipedia page is here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenugreek
I'm not familiar with it, but I did an ingredient search here and there were a number of things that popped up.
I've lived in Savannah for 19 years now, and love it. (Well, except for the gnats that are currently making it impossible to sit out in the back. They seem to think I'm some sort of an ambulatory buffet...)

Yes, you're right ~ it would be nice. But wouldn't you be able to use the dishes for cumin about the same way? To me, they are similar ~ but then, my taste buds ain't what they used to be.

Well I suppose. One is lemony flavoured and the other is a musky type of taste..They are not the same. No matter..Lotus.

Teeeheee ~ I don't get lemon or musk out of either one of those. More like a "rubber tires burning on the beach" taste
But I have had anosmia now for three years (lack or reduced sense of taste and smell) due to a horrid sinus infection, so I have learned to live with it. On the upside, I don't really care what I eat and I can clean up ANY mess you can imagine (ick), but on the down side, I can't tell if the house is on fire either. Could be worse

This is a really good chart. It'll come real handy for me especially now that I've decided to cut down on salt. Thanks.
