    Karen, there's nothing like that name in the database.

    If you could give us a description of the cole slaw, maybe someone might know it by another name.

    Someone thought this recipe from food network tasted a lot like the one you're asking for.

    Actually, I tried that one. It is good and has that horseradish bite, but it is not like the one I had at Emil Villa's. That one was more of a creamy yellow color and almost had more of a honey-sticky constistancy. They served the dressing in a small cup alongside shredded cabbage. If I had to guess the mail ingredients, I would say they were honey, dijon and horseradish. Thanks anyways.

    This is an old post, but I just found this description and recipe about that "famous" cole slaw, and here it is for somebody still interested in this recipe:

    WALNUT CREEK'S HICK'RY PIT RESTAURANT -
    "The chilled bowlful of shredded green cabbage is flecked with red cabbage and carrot and topped with a sweetish dressing blend of horseradish, mayonnaise and "some mystery ingredient", which it is not to be missed". "The best cole slaw anywhere".
    Ingredients:
    1 1/2 cups shredded cabbage
    1 1/2 cups torn salad greens
    1/4 cup chopped green pepper
    1/4 cup chopped celery
    1 small carrot, sliced
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup chopped green onions
    1 teaspoon vinegar
    1/4 teaspoon sugar
    1/4 teaspoon prepared horseradish
    *1 teaspoon honey mustard - (the mystery ingredient added)
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    Dash pepper
    Directions:
    In a large bowl, combine cabbage, salad greens, green pepper, celery and carrot. In a small bowl, combine the remaining dressing ingredients. Pour over cabbage mixture and stir to coat. Serve immediately.

    It has salad greens? How strange! I was thinking of trying it until I saw that, it explains the "serve immediately", as it would turn into a mess if it sat. Might try a cabbage slaw with a combo of mayo, horseradish, an a little honey mustard dressing, though, it sounds like that would go great with the ribs tonight!

    As you must know, not all the recipes have to be made as written, and we always have the option to add, omit or substitue the ingredients that we don't like or don't want in any recipe; so it is up to you to make the recipe according to your taste. That is not a motive to post any negative comment about a recipe if you don't like it as written. icon_biggrin.gif icon_wink.gif

    Negative comment? I'm not sure what you are reading into my post, I said the dressing sounded good and I was going to try a variation on it, just not with salad greens, which would wilt upon standing!
    ETA: The addition of some honey mustard (or, in my case, honey mustard dressing, a couple of tablespoonsful) worked very well using 3 cups of cole slaw mix and omitting salad greens. Because the dressing has sweetness and acidity, I used no sugar, but kept the very small amount of added vinegar.
