Had a couple of crazy days, cooked last night for our halloween party tonight, so didn't get too much done on my menu. It is planned, I just haven't finished writing it all up.

Between being busy on a couple of sites, plus work, the daily grind, and getting ready for our Halloween Party tonight ... it has been a bit crazy. Comcast, our internet provider also had it's issues - so things have been a struggle, but back on track. We had highs in the low 70's for 3 days and this week seems to be 70's-low 80's. Fall is here. I actually was cold last night and needed an extra blanket. Anyone have Halloween plans?

Thx, it isn't hard, but just a nice flavor for a different type of salad. I love to serve with a bowl of potato soup or tomato for a light dinner. A nice roll on the side. I'm a big fan of soup and salad dinners for something a bit healthier

Iowa girl - so sorry about the freezer! It is awful when things like that happen. When there's room, I try to store my little freezer packs in the freezer which can buy a bit of time. Is there anything you can possibly just cook now and then freeze as cooked? Good luck!

With all of our visitors and other things going on, we've been on the move for something like 12 of the past 14 evenings. All I want to do is sit home by myself and read a book! But we have been having fun, too.

Here's the plan for this week, when things start to settle down.

Sat - Roller derby (watching, not skating!). We will find something to eat closer to the venue. I get the night off!

Sun - sauce with tomatoes, garlic, olives, and frozen scallops to have with leftover noodles that need to be used up; with shaved parm.

Mon - Jam night. Asian Brown Rice and Peanut Salad Toss, probably with tuna or a bit of chicken, maybe some sesame crackers on the side

Tue - made-up soup with white beans, greens, onion, garlic, rosemary; maybe a poached egg; with cheese and bread

Wed - similar to Wild West Beef & Smoked Gouda Grits but I will use a mix of interesting dried mushrooms and I will start with some sliced tenderloin that we got on sale from the organic butcher. So it will be sort of a stroganoffy thing and we will see if it is odd with the grits aspect (I am STILL without a working oven, and trying not to have pasta or rice every night!).

Thu - Greek Meatballs, Feta Yogurt Sauce and Lemon Couscous

Fri - hoping for leftovers, but that never seems to work out; so there's always clammy pasta or spaghetti sauce from the freezer

    Happy Fall! --M

The power's been out a couple of days at least. We're remodeling the TV room and it's on the same breaker as the one we have the window AC in. It blew and we didn't even bother to go throw it. We had no idea they were on the same one, since we usually take care of it immediately. Some things are soft. Some still frozen. It's a mess.

I'm debating cooking what I can or tossing it all regardless. So far what I've taken out doesn't smell funky or feel slimy, so...And it was all still at least refrigerator cold. The stuff at the bottom is still frozen solid.

    Any advice?

All I can say is I have been there. And yes, it is a mess. Sorry to hear.
