how exciting! I am about to get married and most of our guests will visit our house on wednesday and thursday before we all head to our wedding location on friday and stay there until sunday icon_biggrin.gif
I need something nice and easy which i could serve on wednesday AND thursday as i can not be bothered cooking two times and lots of different things. I first wanted to make some chilly as my parents love pasta but i guess it would be nice to have some kind of fingerfood as washing up is no good for freshly manicured nails and stressing out so shortly before the big day. Well, i hope to get some more ideas in thins wonderful thread!
    THANK YOU!

OK - a day filled with e-mails with my 2 co-hosts, and we've basically finalized our menu:
    Wedding Shower

Tell me what you guys think. We're having it from 12-2, a drop-in wedding shower, and we're expecting about 40 people on the high side.
Do you think there is enough food & variety?

    Looks good to me!
I'd probably make sure they veggie tray was pretty big. Seems people love to graze on those pick-up-and-dip foods. Noon-2 is good because they may or may not be hungry (especially since it's "drop-in"), so the little sandwiches are great. I can vouch for the MF chicken salad. I love that stuff! icon_wink.gif

a couple of ideas for a baby shower:

    icon_biggrin.gif babies are great!

appetizer recipe i just found tonight...they are so cute (make sure to read the reviews as one tells of making faces on them. they are mommy babies (or mummy babies if making for halloween): Halloween Mummy Dogs or is That Mommy Babies???

then a really cute idea as a gift: its a baby diaper cake. http://entertaining.about.com/cs/showers/a/diapercake.htm (instructions).

(ok, not sure if this is even acceptable or "right" for these days but just had a brain storm:) you could also do a 50-50 or 25-75 raffle on when baby will be born...like a football pool. 50% (or 25%) goes to winner who picked time & date of birth & the rest goes to the mommy...this would be a nice added bonus for the new mommy.

i wish you all happy babies!
