I have made "Russian Tea" for about thirty years and the recipe calls for Nestea instant tea powder. In the last year or so I have been unable to make this recipe as I cannot find the instant tea anywhere (I live in Alberta). I tried ordering online as it is available on but they won't ship the product to Canada. If anyone knows where it might be available in Canada please advise (although I have checked with every retailer that I can think of and have had no luck).

Other than that...has anyone ever made their own instant tea powder? Would dehydrating it work? Thanks!

BTW welcome to you both...good to see you in the Canadian forum!

I looked at the link and if that is what you want than that is Iced tea mix. so you should be able to find that in most stores.

I did go to the site and found it. You are right that there is a difference from the ice tea as it is 100% tea, where the ice tea is sweetened.
The next time I go to a grocery store around here I will look for you. If I find it don't have a problem shipping it off to you.

I've bought it at Costco. But not all products are always available at all Costco stores. You may be able to order from their website.

if you would like the unsweetened i can get it but in quebec they are not always in glass jars. I guess with our language laws here things are translated a bit differently.

Contacted the company and they told me that now this product is only available in Canada to commercial accounts. Trying to find someone who has one so they can order some for me. icon_smile.gif Still haven't given up hope. icon_smile.gif

I wonder if my coffee vendor for work, could order it for me and I could buy it from him. Can you send me your response from the company so that I can give it to my coffee vendor? Where in Alberta are you located, maybe we could share an order.

What you are really looking for is freeze-dried instant tea crystals. Tetley and Red Rose branded bottles of the product were available many years ago in Canada but, due to horrible marketing, never lasted. It is great product. Try orderiung it from England. Would be an excellent product for Tim Hortons.

I saw it on the Zellers store shelf just last month. Will look again and I could ship you a jar.

I would like to have your recipe for the Russian Tea. I to love the Nestea Regular no lemmon. I have been purchasing this tea at Walmart for about two years for $2.58 per jar and have discovered they are discontinuing it. Searching on google to find a new source came accross your posting. I am able to find the Nesta at Kroger stores for
$3.99 a jar. Amazon has it listed but it is not available for purchase. thanks, janie
