Marcia Adams aired on PBS during the late 1980s early 1990s. Many of her recipes were midwestern USA and Amish. They are stick-to-your-ribs hearty.
I've found a few of her recipes here on Zaar...Marcia Adams Recipes

I was not familiar with Marcia Adams before your post. I looked at the recipes and found Stewed Tomatoes and Dumplings. It is close to the recipe I use! One of the sandwich recipes appealed to me too. Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

My Grandma was an old Yankee cook and made stewed tomatoes with dumplings too. A lot of Marcia's recipes are country food that translates from kitchen to kitchen all over the country. Enjoy!

I have two of her Amish cookery books and they are fabulous. I just love the pictures. I can remember watching her cook on PBS when I lived in Canada. I did enjoy it.

    wave.gif Hi MarieAlice!

I agree - the photos in several of her books are beautiful!
I live in Amish country and we like to take drives out past the farms. It is seems so peaceful compared to my hectic life - but when it is snowing and they are driving in buggies using umbrellas for cover I snuggle into the seat of my warm minivan and return to my postmodern, hectic life - happily.

I met Marcia Adams at a Williams Sonoma book signing several years ago. She was very nice. She offered my small son a cookie.
