....... The NA*ME and the French Forums invite you to a:
.....................
.................... Tantalising, Tingling, Tempting, Terrific,
.......................... Tagine Treasure Hunt!
There are numerous Tagine recipes post on Recipezaar, and the GOOD news is that you DO NOT need a tagine to cook them in! A crock-pot or slow cooker works VERY well, as does a more conventional casserole dish!
.....
What is a tagine? It has now become the name of a style of cooking that takes its name from the clay pot that it is cooked in - a Tagine!
These beautifully decorated pots with their conical lids are seen everywhere in North Africa and also in France, with France's close ties and links to Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. The moisture of the cooking condenses from the tall conical lid and then evaporates back into the dish creating moist and tender food.
This cooking method along with the exciting spices and fruit that are used, makes them one of the most enticing and delicious meals imaginable!
So, PLEASE join in the fun and Tag your TAGINE recipe now...........and PLEASE ask if you need any help with the spices used or suggested accompaniments for your Tagine Treasure Hunt!
TAG away please......we have started a special cookbook:
.................... "Tagine Treasure Hunt"
........you can also submit any tagine recipe throughout the tag Game to be added to this cookbook!
The rules are simple and easy, and remember the goal is to have fun and find and tag as many tagines as possible.
Rules:
1. Pick any tagine recipe that you fully commit to making in the month of February.
2. Post your choice in this thread.
3. Please make sure that if your tag cannot be reviewed on or before deadline that you kindly ask for an extension.
4. You must review tagged recipe before tagging another recipe.
5. Photo's are appreciated if possible, but not necessary to play.
Happy cooking! French Tart, Chef Fifi, Um Safia & Elmotoo
