Hi
here we will share recipes to be cooked with Chef-o-matic
I will start with Roscon de Reyes (also posted on Spain & Portugal forum)
I used:
flour (around 380 gr)
baking powder: one envelope
2 eggs
peel from one lemon and one orange
70 gr of butter
30 gr of rum
100 gr milk
20 gr honey
Warm up a bit the milk and rum and butter in microwave
Then add the milk, rum, and butter, and then the eggs, honey, sugar, lemon/orange peel, flour and baking powder all toghether and select program 13, and let it rest for an extra hour
After that you have to work it until you can do a ball that does not stick to your hands, so you may need to add more flour
Do a ball, then a roscon shape (my method was that: to do a ball, then starting from inside I got the roscon shape, maybe there are better ways.....)
To decorate: with some egg, and sugar, maybe candied fruits, honey, almonds.....
Traditional way to do it is with candied fruit and cherries
If you are going to hide a present, do it now (wrap it in aluminium paper) Getting the present means good luck
Then to a pre-heated oven, around 180ºC for 20/30 minutes
You can eat it like that or you can fill it with cream
Mine ended up very well, a bit two big, so I actually cooked two roscones. One is already half eaten, the other I stored it in the freezer

Another recipe, also already posted
Bread puding:
get old bread, or biscuits, or breadlike stuff, and pour milk on it until all is very soft
add 2 eggs, sugar and then cinammon, vanilla.... whatever you fancy
program number 91, 1 hour
try it, it is a great puding, you can "recycle" all bread, and the cake improves flavour by the day (if you can avoid to eat it first day hehehehe)

Hi,
it is a kind of crock pot, it cooks slowly, no need to be checking it, and you can program it.
It cooks, bakes, makes bread...
Very popular in Spain, there are forums with thousands of recipes. Not so popular outside of Spain, that is why I post some recipes here to inspire Urmeli (she has one also but she cannot read Spanish)
I use it a lot, I really like the fact that you can program it, so when you arrive home after work, your food is ready. If you dont make it on time, it also keeps the food warm for one extra hour.
Today I am baking potatoes, I may fill them later with cheese.
With peel and everything, just clean them and prick them a bit with a fork and add them in th bucket. Program 91, time, it depends on size of the potatoes
Today I also cooked a lemon cake
ingredients
1 chefo glass of oil
1 chefo glass of milk
1.5 chefo glasses of sugar
2 eggs
3 chefo glasses of flour
yeast or baking powder
peel of a lemon and its juice
All in the bucket, program 50, 1 hour and 5 minutes. When it beeps, stop it but wait 10 minutes before getting it out. Then let it cool down outside the chefo

Wow, it sounds like something I would enjoy! How steep is the price? Thanks for your reply.

Hi,
I paid 99 euros for it
I highly recommended here in Spain to everybody, very good value for the price
I use it every day
It is slow, but not as slow as other machines, but enough to leave it alone and carry on with my life
Yesterday I did Minced meat cake
Ingredients
500 gr of minced meat
2 eggs
spices/salt to taste
an envelope on instant soup (can be replaced by bread crumbs or anything else that "glues" the cake)
a tin of corn (100 gr ish)
all in the bucket, first i mixed all once with program 51
then program 91 for 1 hour and a half
if you want to fill it up with cheese, then before program 91, take some of the mix out, place the cheese, and put the mix back in the bucket.
When ready, let it cool down a bit before getting it out of the bucket

Dear Chilindron,
I am so happy to have found your postings, I do hope you are still active.
I have recently received a Chef-o-matic as a gift, second hand so it lacks the measurecup and most important: the recipebook!!
I have tried but I was not succesful in understanding the machine.
I love to bake my own bread or even just make the dough, or do even more special things (thanks for the Chicken coke recipe - I will try it shortly!)
Can you please help me out with some basic recipes and maybe a measure for the chefomatic-cup (how much liquid and so on fits in it, what can I use as measure).
Well, hope to hear from you!
Kindest regards, Sabine from Holland

hello there,
I have a chef-o-matic but long lost the measuring cup and since then have not been able to cook anything. Can you maybe measure the cup with flour and with water and sent me the grams/cl?
Thank you!!!
