I thought it was so cool! I bet you could do it with fall leaves or holly too. It's from Rachael Ray.
We've seen it jiggle for decades — finally, Jell-O gets to play a bigger role at the dinner table. Evette Rios, one of Rach's go-to design gurus, elevates the translucent dessert to art with this nifty trick: Combine six boxes of Jell-O powder with half the amount of water specified, chill the mix in a glass vase for half an hour, then just push flowers into the semi-firm gelatin. Design your own — in any color!

Zurie, just thought I'd warn you, if you didn't know it...Jell-O is the name brand of flavored gelatin in the US. Jelly is something totally different here, a thick spread made from fruit juice and pectin, and not what is used in the centerpiece. Not sure if you all use different terms or not but I didn't want you to try it with jelly if your jelly is the same as our jelly.

This made me think of poinsettias! What color jello would you use if you used red poinsettias?

I think this is an amazing idea and what I love about zaar is the generous sharing of many original and unusual ideas.
Thank you, Marg.

Green or Peach with some food coloring to make it Golden. What about sprinkling in some glitter? What about tying around the bottom with ribbon? So many possibilities.

I think the pineapple Jell-O is almost clear. That might be a good choice for poinsettias.

My question is, is it a center piece for looks only or do you eat it? If you eat it you need to know that poinsettias and Holly are both poisonous, so be careful what you put in it if for eating. I do agree it is very pretty.

No worries, Marg! I've become used to this little language "confusion"! Your Jell-O is our jelly!
Your jelly is our jam!
It's just that we do not have the brand name "Jell-O" here. It's Moir's or Royal ... but it's Jell-O or jelly.
