Over 160 Zaar members have been virtually touring the world through their kitchens for the last 7 weeks. 16 teams have been cooking for a charity of their choice. The Grand Prize of $1,000 dollars which was generously donated by RecipeZaar, will be awarded to the winning teams charity. We have learned a lot about different cuisines, cultures and have come to appreciate some of what each region has to offer as well as made lasting friendships along the way.

Each player has selected the 2 Top Recipes to share with you that in their opinion were the best of the best, the ones that deserved recognition, the crème de la crème.

First, I wanna thanks my AWESOME teammembers!!! Cookiedog for being a great firstmate and checking all the threads for our postings! Lori In Canada, NoraMarie, tornadoesthree (T3, as we affectionately call her icon_wink.gif ), bigbadbrenda (our personal spy icon_cool.gif ), bmxmomto4 (hope your computer gets fixed soon!!), Boomette1 (our resident mixologist! drunk.gif), Michelle Berteig, Sally S (our girl Down Under) and, last, but in no way least! Shawna!!! We had a team that stayed together until the very end, and we weathered a lot of storms during this time. I'm so proud of the Mamas for coming back and staying with it!!!!

SSOOOOOOOOO hard to choose for this Mama!!!
I had so much fun this time around...this tour was very well-organized and we had such a great team!!! Go Mamas!!!!!!!

After much consideration (I've been thinking about this for a week!), I have narrowed it down to these 2:

I'm picking this one cuz my hubby and I enjoyed it...the kids wouldn't even try it!
Muffuletta Sandwich by PanNan....oh the flavors!!! This was heaven on a bun to me! And it traveled well. I wrapped them in foil and we ate them about an hour or 2 later!!! A must try!!!

I'm picking this one cuz it was my kids' favorite! They scarfed them down quick!!!
Ancho Chili Fries by Nick's Mom....crunchy, sweet and spicy!! Went great with our barbecue!!! Will be making often!!!!

I just have to say that this was my first world tour and will not be my last. My team the Jelly Rollers is just the best bunch of gals. We had a little rough patch at the begining but we worked everything out and became a well oiled cooking machine that we are now. We work together so well that we can almost read each others minds. That is crazy considering that we've never met.

My two favorite recipes had to be
"Beef Jerk Burgers ( Caribbean)" by my fellow J roller Andypandy because hubby and I loved this, and

"Love-Me-Tender Nut Burgers!" because it was so different.

And namely both of these because Hubby has asked for both again. Which is saying something, he usually doesn't go for turkey burgers, but both of these turned out so flavorful.

Thanks for a great world tour everybody!

It was really hard to choose the two best as I had some terrific food experiences on the Tour. But I' ve decided on
Giant Chocolate Chunk Cookies#71078. I've been trying various chocolate chip cookie recipes on Zaar and when I came across this recipe on the Tour I hit the jackpot! These are the most incredible cookies! I didn't think the kids would be too keen on the addition of nuts but they gobbled them up, even a neighbourhood child got in on the action!

And for my second pick Chilled Salmon With Herb Mayonnaise#134018. This was such a lovely hot weather dish. The marinated salmon was so tasty and the herb mayonnaise was such a great compliment. We fell in love with Scandinavian food with this recipe.

I had the absolute honor of being a member of the host's Whine and Cheese Gang! toni gifford was our fearless leader and kept our team totally organized! I had the pleasure of getting to know Stacy, Mrs Goodall, a bit better and just love that woman and her wonderful sense of humor! Last years hosts, mama's kitchen, kzbhansen, and ~Leslie~ were back to work this year and I loved being on the same team this time! PanNan, ~Nimz~, Elmotoo, Susie D, Saturn rounded out our spectacular team. If we had been playing for points we would have been one Power House of a team!!! I just love you guys!!! icon_smile.gif

This tour was FABULOUS and I had a wonderful time getting to know all the newbies!!!!

It is really hard to pick two dishes because I really had some outstanding food these last 6 weeks. I am picking a drink and a side item - because these will be made over and over at our house.

So I am picking lazyme's Horseradish Mashed Potatoes because DH2B is STILL talking about them, and they will be made in our house forever.

And this drink really sticks out in my mind! I have even had friends call and ask me for the recipe! Asian Pear Mojito by cookiedog! I will make these a lot!

I had a BLAST!!! And want to thank each and every one of the 160 plus players, because you all did a fantastic job and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I am a proud floozie. I've had a wonderful team to work with as well. As this was my first ZWT, they helped me figure out what I was doing.

    My two top recipes are:
Family Pleasing Chicken Paprika by Mommy Diva and

Dee's Dinner Salad by Dienia B. The salad was one that I modified for the light cooking challange, so I've been making the even lighter version 3 times since the contest began.

I have to say my husband is probably the most disappointed that this cooking contest is almost over. He asks me every night, "what do you HAVE to cook tonight??" and, "so what country are you doing tonight?"

Our team is playing for the Diabetes Foundation. We chose this charity because we recently lost a dear Zaar member (Amy) at a young age to diabetes. We also have team members that either have diabetes or have lost family members to it. We want a cure!!

I have found soooo many great recipes during the tour. It's so hard to pick two favorites.

These are the two recipes that really stick in my mind as outstanding:

From Australia region: Mandy from Oz's Butterflied Leg of Lamb Masala

From the NA/ME region: LoriInIndiana's Chickpea Salad

I had so much fun during this tour! I made lots of new friends, learned a lot and found great new recipes!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I've had a great team to work with, the Queen Bs. This was my first ZWT and they really helped me get the hang of this game!

My two favorite recipes (very difficult to decide) are:
"No Rice Stuffed Peppers from Longmeadow Farm" and "Chicken in Puff Pastry".

I've really enjoyed ZWT and am excited to do it the next time now that I know a little bit more about what it is like! I've really enjoyed making new friends!

    Hi Everyone,

I am proud to be a Good Lookin' Cookin' Mama! This was also my first ZWT and my team captain and team mates were very kind and patient in explaining everything to me and answering all my dumb questions, hahaha!

Definitely my favorite recipe so far is Short Ribs Jambalaya. This recipe is just so delicious and my family loves it! I will be making this on a regular basis. It's pretty easy to make too, as most of the cooking is in the oven.

I'd have to say my next favorite recipe is "Blue" Berry cake. This is a very rich cake, tastes like pound cake actually and was also very easy to make. When the batter is so yummy, you know the cake will be too! I can just see this one with all kinds of fruits!

It's been a whirlwind tour and a lot of fun along the way!

icon_eek.gif I CAN ONLY PICK TWO?????

Okay - I made many many wonderful things and am grateful for the push to try things I would never have tried on my own. So I will pick two recipes that I wouldn't have cooked otherwise that I think were the best (could list quite a few others that I would have possibly cooked otherwise - they are "my kind of recipe" that would also qualify as best but am going for things that are new to me!).

    Mango Creamy Cheese Charlotte
    - really quite easy & an impressive dessert for my math department end of school luncheon!

    Moroccan Cauliflower Soup

you know I may have made this on my own if I ever found the recipe on my own..... it was fantastic and will be part of my lunch repetoire once school starts again. Every time I took a bite of this I would just swoon in pleasure - it really has amazing flavors!!!

I have to stop now? I can't list more? wah! icon_cry.gif

That is a hard question, 2 favourite recipies. I love the Jivin Jerk Shrimp Salad that was awesome and I am going to try everyone of the jerk recipies that the teams came up with. Another shrimp one Buttery Garlic Jumbo Shrimp.Everything we tried we enjoyed. Sometimes it was the sauce that was incredible like the horseradish with brocolli. I want to thank all that added their recipies to the tour.
My teammates were the best and Charmie was a fantastic leader. No one can make drinks like Boomette.
I was a newbie to the tour but always felt welcomed.

A huge thank you to the tour hosts, what a incredible hard job.

    Good Lookin MAMAS

There are several recipes that I absolutely loved. But for the two that are my favorites, I chose Iced Irish Coffee and Shrimp Saute Vin Blanc. The shrimp had the best flavor to it and the Iced coffee ..well..it was my first recipe for my first ZWT.

Thanks to all the MAMAS!! You are Goddesses icon_wink.gif

Oh, dear, this was verrrrrry hard; there have been some absolutely amazing recipes that I've chosen...
    OK.
#1 is Swedish Meatballs With Lingonberry or Cranberry Sauce by French Tart

The blend of flavors is TDF; this is my Swedish Meatball recipe from this day and forever! icon_lol.gif
#2 is Mexican Prawn (Shrimp) Kebabs by Gobsmacked team mate, Jewelies
    234905

So easy, so tasty, and the spice/lemon flavors go perfect with the shrimp.
There were lots of runner-ups, believe me!!!

wave.gif Lori here from the Good Lookin' Cookin' Mamas!

Oh boy, where to start.....It's all been so much fun this time around, since it was a lot less fast paced compared to the last 2 I was in. I have loved every minute of being on the team I was chosen to be on. I found that everyone was very dedicated, but very laid back at the same time and we sure know how to make each other laugh, right Cookiedog my fellow "trying to get that secret recipe challenge posted before everyone else" buddy? That will be my favorite memory of this Tour, well that and the Spy Swatter. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif Charmie, you so totally rock as a captain and I for one am glad you took on that challenge and those cute little icons beside completed recipes SmileyCentral.com My DH enjoyed the trip very much. The kids, not so sure. I don't think they liked the Caribbean very much. Cinnamon just doesn't belong on meat. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif It's not easy to pick 2 favorites, but if I have too, these are the two we enjoyed the most Garlic Pasta Salad (garlic lovers dream here) and Whine and Cheese All the Thyme Burger (my husband just loved everything about this burger).

Thank you so very much to all the organizers. So much time and effort is spent to make these contests fun and successful and you all are tops in my books. I just love this place called Zaar!! SmileyCentral.com

By far my two favorties were "Blue" Berry cake and Fried Breaded Pork Chops. I NEVER could make muffins before attempting Ritas recipe, but these turned out like real muffins! And the chops were the best I have had yet. Two amazzing recipe that are a must try!
