    I bought a Tigine!

    Alrighty, I bought a tagine after wanting one for years icon_biggrin.gif

    Not a pretty painted one. There are 2 types: the beautifully decorated ones that are only used for presentation and the ones actually used to do the cooking. As gorgeous as the decorated ones are I want a useful one build to real tagine flavors.

    So, I got this, Emile Henry Flame Tajine:

    Hummmmmmmmmmmm, I might just need a Turkish coffee pot too. Heheheheheheheheheheh

    I'm sure you will really enjoy it. If I could recomend my two favourite tagine dishes....

    My son bought me a tagine last year(just like your). I love it; the combinations of ingredients are so so good!

    Thats good to know. Mine arrived a couple of days ago and I'm dieing to try try it out. I'm cooking like crazy for ZWT right now but during the days between rounds the tagine and I are going to get up close and personal. icon_lol.gif

    Tell me hon, did you season yours with milk? As soon as I got it out of the box I washed it and tucked it away. Then I opened the booklet o peek at the recipes. Before I got to them I read: Before washing your tagine heat to boiling enough milk to cover the bottom of the dish and let cool. I'm wondering what benefit that is and if it's too late for whatever that benefit might be, lol.

    Perhaps the proteins in the milk seal the pores in the glaze, Annacia.

    I did that too I washed it first then I did the milk thing. apparently you have to do this only once.
