My kids need to grow outside their box and expand their breakfast menus. We have a limited time to prepare and eat in the mornings before school and work, but it is very important to me they eat something worthwhile. Seems like all they eat now are yogurt tubes, veggie sausage links, and mini-frozen pancakes. They have tried scrambled eggs on several occasions and cannot get into it.
Any healthy muffins with fruit/veggies mixed in, shakes, or other ideas would be greatly appreciated- Especially things I can make over the week-end for the upcoming week or freeze.
Thanks so much- I haven't posted anything since this was recipezaar!

Do they like Mexican - I make breakfast burritos - just scrambled eggs, but wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and with some salsa on top, it's quick and tasty. I know you said scrambled eggs did not work, but maybe dressed up t way?
I take it oatmeal is a no go? I make mine in the rice cooker, so it makes itself, there are also some slow cooker recipes. Cold oatmeal reheats very well in the micro,

I often have the same issue. My kids are die-hard pre-packaged breakfast kids. Unfortunately one of my 5 year old twins is epileptic and many of the artificial ingredients and preservatives in pre-packaged breakfast foods are a "no-no" for him so I've had to update breakfast big time. Luckily we can still do a couple of dry cereals for the really busy mornings. I always try to have a fresh fruit at breakfast for them grapes and bananas are the favorite and melon when in season. I found a great recipe for oatmeal in the rice cooker here and it's a big hit too. I use Krusteaz pancake mix for pancake mornings and have found many good recipes for "different" pancakes at their website, pumpkin ones are a favorite. I try to make extra and freeze for the busy mornings, same with french toast. Two of mine like scrambled egg "tacos" which seem to go over good too. Biscuits and fried eggs are also popular.

the breakfast cookies are a huge hit with my 5 and 3 year olds. I'm guilty of skipping breakfast most days but the cookie is something I can enjoy on the go as well. We really love the zuchini muffins too

Oatmeal, omelet, fried rice with mix vegetables and ground meat and grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich are some of the easiest food to prepare for breakfast.

Some of the things I do is make pancakes in a mini muffin pan and put a piece of sausage link in the middle and bake ahead of time and just reheat in the microwave for 25 seconds. I also I like to make egg casseroles the ones you prepare the night before and refrigerate over night then as soon as I wake up I pop it in the oven. My kids also like flour tortillas with peanut butter spread inside and a banana then just roll.

I need some ideas for breakfast that either dont require cooking such as doughnuts or something that I could make ahead of time and just warm up while we are up there.
