EVERY holiday something specific is on sale. For me, this is what I stock up for the 4th and Labor Day:

King Soopers, aka Kroger Store, Ralph's in So. Cal:

    Bullseye BBQ sauce
    Hunt's Ketchup
    Store brand mayo

ALL on sale for $1.00, PLUS, the sauce and ketchup have .55/1 coupons, doubled to make the products FREE.
Mayo is $1, so I buy at least a dozen for the pantry.
I buy my ENTIRE YEARS worth that stays nice and cool in my basement pantry (6' x 6') and we are so tight on money, THIS IS CRUCIAL TO DO. Anyway, this family is SET till NEXT JULY!

Hot dogs.. can be down to .25/pkg.. yeah, they're not great with all the crap and fat in them, but WHERE ELSE can you get a POUND OF MEAT for $1??? My freezer is packed with them; again, for a year.

Hamburger is on sale for $1/lb.. again, great buy.

Pickles, pickle relish, mustard, chips (the only time a year I buy them due to sales and I remove half of them and into Mason jars to dole out later on)

Canned fruits and Jell-O are on sale now too. Unflavoured gelatin is great in many ways during the year and Certo I use not to CAN, but I have an awesome home made version of Good Seasonings Dressings that calls for the dry pectin.

In a few wks blueberries and raspberries will drop cheap.. go for it! Make jams, jellies and freeze the whole fruit in Mason Jars.

Well, I gotta go. going to hit the local Farmer's Market at the 'swap meet' (flea market to you East Coasters) for some cheap fresh produce.

Woohoo! I'm a sales junkie, so thanks for posting

Another one to check out, my local Kroger store (Dillons) is having a 4 for $6 sale on several brands of ice cream (including Ben and Jerry's!)
