I am looking for a recipe for "Killer Brownies" I am not sure if they are made anywhere else, but here in the Twin Cities, they are made for Lund's/ Byerly's Grocery stores. Basically, they are giant, thick brownies with a layer of some sort of slighly solid caramel mixture in the middle... There are also some nuts and chocolate morsels thrown in there for good measure, with confectioner's sugar sprinkled on top. There are a couple of different varieties made, such as "Peanut Butter Killer Brownies," " No Nut Killer Brownies," and "German Chocolate Killer Brownies". I am looking for any one of these recipes if anyone has one. I have attempted to make them in the past, but I seem to be missing something and I have no idea what it is.
    Thanks!

I have tried that recipe several times LoriInIndiana, I just can't get it right for some reason! They always end up SUPER gooey (not that its that bad of a thing) almost to the point of mush. The chocolate morsels always seem to turn to a hard layer in the middle as well. Thanks though, I really do love that recipe when the brownies actually turn out for me!

    Cats Eye-
Those look great, thank you for the suggestion. I will have to try them and see if they turn out like I hope! I like the addition of the coconut and toffee bits, that may be what I am missing!

Check out My Special Brownies recipe #117447 that use Hershey chocolate bars in the middle of two layers of brownie batter.

You could sub different types of candy bars to make the different centers... I know there are the choco bars w/ caramel in the center as well as raspberry and other flavors of gooey goodness.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

They're not called "killer Brownies", but the Barefoot Contessa on food network has a recipe for "Outrageous Brownies " that I have been wanting to try. You might check it out........sorry, but I don't have the # or website off hand to give you.

LOL.................No, there's really no way to undo that, but you can edit it, erase the double post and put "Oops, double post" for the new text. icon_lol.gif

Thanks Lori...........I've done that twice in the last couple of days........ trying to think of too many things at once, I guess. (or maybe I'll just claim a senior moment.) icon_redface.gif......... By the way, I haven't checked into the Indiana thread for a long time.......(I am sort of displaced here in AZ. for the last 20 years, but like to hear about "home". Guess I will tune in and see what is going on.) Thanks for the comeback......see you later......Donna
