I did not post this funny thing about my great great aunt who was married to Bonnie Bob Bartlett. Because she was a captain's wife, they ate cod. Lots and lots of cod. Cod for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She swore after he retired that she would never eat cod again. Funny how I still love it.

Another funny thing was- as a kid- I loved filet-o-fish sandwiches from McDonalds. Ate them every time we went there with an orange soda and fries. As I got older, I wanted to know what kind of fish was, here was the conversatiion:

I was wondering what kind of fish is in your sammiches?
I'll check. 100% North Atlantic filet
    OK, filet of what?
Well, filet of fish, Of course.
    What fish?
    North American fish.

I knew the poor kid working the counter did not know, the packaging does not say, but it is cod.

    I still love Filet-o-Fish,

    What she said.

Well- I Do look forward for every November when they bring back the McRib. I just love those little artery clogging suckers. November 1st you can spot Potsie in her '65 Mustang in a McDonald's drive thru. Set your calenders!

But other than that...What she said.

I have a spooky fish story...

I was fishing on a pier on an area lake with a few friends and a few strangers. A man I didn't know got a very strong strike on his line and he struggled for quite a while to reel it in. Just as the line reached the bottom of the pier it went slack and we thought he had lost it.

But when he pulled the line out of the water the only thing on his line was the head of a very large catfish, It probably would have weighed at least five pounds.

We were all stunned and we just all looked at one another not believing what we were seeing. Something much bigger than that fish bit it right in half at the last second.

I was just a teenager but I will never forget it. None of us kids EVER swam near that pier again!
