I know this topic is not too active but I've found some great bento recape websites I wanted to share, thousands of recapes to try. but first did you know bento started out as precooked dried rice samurai carried in little sacks into battle? they would moisen the rice agian to eat it, so they could eat fast out on the feild, if i have my history right and i think i do.

Then bento went on to bamboo woven boxes filled with oniguri (rice balls) served at tea partys an such.
Nowadays the bento madness continues with a wide range of boxes from disposable to huge 3 tier famly size boxes but whats inside is still the same. A bento breaks down like this, 4 parts rice or noodels, 3 parts meat dish, 2 parts veggys, and 1 part pickkels or dessert. Wow a hole feast in a box lol. Well theres a bit of info for you, i'll shut up now lolz enjoy the sites.
