Two Grandmas here looking for ideas for Halloween Spook House features and really GROSS food ---- for kids age 6 to about 11 or 12. I know we have more than 2 months but we need a lot of time to put this together. If we can pull it off, it will happen in a garage ---- just thought kids today would prefer something like this to bobbing for apples. My first thought was that, if you want some ideas for really gross stuff, you should ask the kids.

We did a fun Halloween party once and we had a game with food to feel like body parts. I put the food in boxes with a hole cut in it just big enough for hands to fit through to feel the food inside. It is important that you can't see what's in the box, only feel it. Label the outside of the boxes with the name of the body part, then the food that feel like that body part goes inside. skin= oiled flour tortillas, guts=cooked, cold spaghetti tossed lightly in oil, eyeballs=peeled grapes, I can't remember the rest, but you could probably do a search online for Halloween games. Have fun with this, I love Halloween and hope to do fun parties for my kids when they are older!

Thanks, PinkFreak, I've been wondering about some games. Is the point of this one to identify the body parts and the guest who guesses the most correctly wins the prize? Guess I'm a real "softie" ---- just the thought of some of this stuff makes me feel queasy!

I remember doing this back in the 70's at a Halloween party. We sat in a circle in the dark and someone told a story about a body being dug up and then they passed around the body parts.

I make Bloody eyeball soup before Trick or treating. Carve a chunk of Mozzarella cheese into a ball shape and scoop out another hole from that to fit a green olive w/pimento. Thats the eyeball. Float a couple in tomato soup. My seven year old loves this.
Pus and eyeball soup is another easy one. Make eyeballs from lemon jello molded in an egg carton. Add a raisen for the center. Float these in vanilla pudding. Fun Fun Fun.

Just what I'm looking for everyone ---- thank you. I DO think I'd have a problem eating some of this stuff, though. Not as tough as I thought I was in my old age!
