    I am sooooo excited!!!!

T0day I bought my first crockpot made by Rival. I have never cooked in a slow cooker before . My first dish is Crockpot Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken by Mirj which has been on for 4 hours now. This is sooo much fun.

Some questions---I used frozen chicken and the Rival book says to add an extra 4 hours low cooking time--is that right?

Also I want to take the lid off to mix it all around and coat the chicken pieces with the sauce like you would in a regular oven. Is it right to do that?

I cant wait to try it should be ready at about 2am UK time!!

wow you really are excited huh!!!

I would check it after about 5 or 6 hours... chicken tends to cook in short amounts of time.

You can stir it up to coat....but resist the urge to take the lids off as much as possible!

9 times out of 10 I always use frozen meat when I am cooking a meat recipe. I think you are able to get longer cook times that way. Most of the time I need that extra time. Experiment with it... there are sooooooooo many excellent recipes here that you can try. Just dont forget to review the recipes and let us know how they come out.

    Have fun!!
