Having a party outside and of course the weather has to be a heat wave. Any ideas for finger food that would be refreshing? Have fruit kabobs, pinwheel wraps and a antipasto plate but I'm looking for something different. Need to stay away from any kind of fish or sea food and would like something cold. Can you help me?

Tomato and Herb Bruschetta - you could have the tomato and herb mixture in a pretty bowl with the crostini surrounding it and let people spoon their own, that way, you'll avoid soggy bruschetta

Greek Cheese and Olive Quick Bread

    Parmesan Almonds

    Pepperoni Cheese Straws

    Spiced Cheese Straws

Gazpacho - you could have an iced pitcher of Gazpacho and pretty dixie cups to serve it in

    Hummus

    Marinated Feta with Kalamata Olives

    Tzatziki

Ok, I don't know what these are called or the exact recipe but had them at an open house the other night. Very cool looking and refreshing.

There were small yellow squash and skinny zuchiini that were sliced thinly, lenthwise and I believe blanched until tender and chilled. (So they were floppy but not mushy.)
They were laid out flat and spread with a cream cheesey filling and then rolled up and placed standing upright on the platter. Out of each center there was a thin slice of red pepper or cucumber poking out of the top. Great presentation and wonderful fresh taste. I will work on getting the exact recipe and posting it here at zaar.

Have you ever made/had fresh spring rolls (Goi Cuon)? HeatherFeather has a great recipe posted on Zaar. They are very light and refreshing...in my opinion, the perfect summer treat.

I haven't made these yet, but sounds like great party food. Cherry tomatoes are everywhere now; and this is an easy appetizer. Merry Tomatoes
BTW, I've made Uncle Bill's Stuffed Pickles and they are super and fun! Good cooking!
