Ok Guys! icon_biggrin.gif I went ahead and began a thread for us to post our weekly menus, discuss questions we might have about the diet, report lbs lost, and give each other support!

Anyone who wants to start the South Beach diet with us is welcome to join us! We will be starting the South Beach Diet as a group on Monday June 13th! (That gives us a little over a week to come up with our first week's menu and shop for the ingredients! ) If you can't start that day, feel free to start when your schedule allows and join us here anyways! icon_wink.gif

We are all going to look sooooo good! icon_cool.gif

    Good Luck everyone! icon_biggrin.gif

Perhaps we should all take before photos so that we can see our progress. Not necessarily to share with anyone unless we choose to. I put on quite a few lbs having my babies but I still think of myself as the "before" person. My parents just came to visit and we took some videos of the family together. There was one scene where this huge (and I mean HUGE) arse was blocking the camera's shot and I said out loud, "I wish that fat thing with her big arse would get out the way so we can see the people!" That fat thing was me!!!!! icon_eek.gif icon_lol.gif

icon_lol.gif I've done basically the same thing! icon_lol.gif I looked at a picture the other day and said "Oh my, that's me? Good grief!!!" icon_eek.gif icon_evil.gif I have about 20 lbs to loose, but I'm short so 20 lbs looks like more!

I think taking a before picture is a good idea. I actually have some I took recently that I could use as the "before" photo. icon_rolleyes.gif

Im SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!! icon_biggrin.gif I will take a before photo tonight icon_smile.gif

I think I have about 15-20lbs to lose.... Im just between 5'3" and 5'4" and want to be in good shape again... Im too young to be this out of shape icon_rolleyes.gif

I will start my meal planning but will also look forward to discussion about meal plans before we are to actually post them! icon_biggrin.gif

Lets talk about what kind of meals work best for us... what meals we are thinking about having... etc!!! icon_lol.gif

    Hi everyone, count me in!

I did start (or shall I say re-start; I was on this last year, successfully) the diet again as of this week.

I know you guys are starting the diet next week, on the 13th. As I said, I just started Phase I myself. Once I get my menu for next week together, if you don't mind, I will post it here. That way, when you start your own diets on the 13th, you will have some ideas for a menu for the following week.

    Sound ok? icon_biggrin.gif

I've been on SBD for about 5 weeks and I have lost 12 pounds. I am sticking to phase 1 until I lose another 14 pounds because I have a lot to lose. I'm 5'2" and weigh 174.6 pounds as of today. I love the diet and feel it is an extremely healthy way of eating. I have lots of recipes that are SBD perfect but just haven't had the time to post them. Good luck to all of us.

For today's dinner, the 4th, I'm going to make Smilynn's Chicken Breasts Smothered in Tomatoes and Mozzarella along with Tracy K's Brussels Sprouts in Garlic Butter.

*Edit: I made Smilynn's chicken breast recipe from above; it was a delicious 5 stars!

Ok, glad I could help out! By "promising" to post my menu, it also helps me stick to my diet and my menu plan. icon_wink.gif As I said, I was on this last year with wonderful results. I wish I never had went off it when I did. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm going to be making my menu and grocery list for this week and I will post my menu as soon as I have it together. Or I will just post here daily, next week, and give everyone the rundown of what I ate that day, along with any recipes I followed.

I'm also going to start after seeing the amount of enthusiasm on this thread icon_smile.gif I actually did it with some of my roommates two years ago and it worked well for all four of us, but unfortuntaely some of the weight has returned since then. Tomorrow's a bank holiday here in Ireland so I'm going to plan some recipes today and do groceries in the morning.

I'm going to be joining you all and plan to "pre-start" this week by reducing my bread intakes and such. It's going to take me a bit to psych myself up for it but I do feel much better (not to mention look better) when I really follow the beach. Hooray for us!!

I accidently left my SBD book at work over the weekend, so I'm going to read some more tonight about the diet and will start on my menu in the next day or two. icon_smile.gif
