    persian (?) rice

    Sat May 21, 2005 12:37 pm Groupie
Hi, a few years ago, I had some rice at a buffet, prepared by a girl from Persia (Iran). It was cooked rice(served cold), very long grained and I have never seen rice like this anywhere and was very oily and had chopped parsley and almonds(?) in it...It tasted light and like heaven. Can anybody give me some info about this and also where I can get that rice? Thanks Ya'll TZB

Liebe Zuckerbäckerin -- sind Sie Deutsch? Und in Texas?
Perhaps you should try the Eastern European forum -- that's a bit closer! Or Asian cooking. It sounds like a kind of rice that's not generally available. (I'm in South Africa, by the way).

Funny, your question made me think (even before I read it) that we need a middle eastern forum. I do have some recipes for Persian rice from Iran but none of them match what you're describing icon_confused.gif
