I am very much a newbie when it comes to crock pot cooking- that said have just put all ingred. in CP for Mirj's brisket combined with onions but the fluid does NOT go 1/2 way up the pot. I added a little extra coke but really wanted to stick to recipe. Is this ok or schould I add H2O or something else???

    Thanks,

well if your new to the crockpot scene I would stick to the recipe for sure. Usually when i use my cp. I sometimes may make small changes in the recipe but nothing major. Changing things can sometimes affect the turn out. best to stick to it icon_smile.gif

Thanks, I'm just concerned that I didn't fill the crock with enough liquid.

The juices from the brisket will cook down along with the onions.

My fav brisket recipe is you just lay peppercorns and onion slices down ON TOP of the brisket, cover and cook for 3 or 4 hours on low int he oven.. NO liquid!! The onions cook down and create a heavenly gravy. Don't worry.
