There is a great one in the Blankenese part of town, I can't remember the name though. If you come out of the Underground stop, just follow the street across, past the small and very odd looking war memorial and continue to walk down it for a bit. There are a couple of small shops along it, pharmacy, bakery, travel agent that kind of thing and the restaurant is on the left, it's kind of looks Italian, with sun blinds sticking out, but it serves a really good mix of food and great seafood.

Also make sure your eat a sausage from one of the small stands in the pedestrian shopping zone, my favourite is called something like Riesenknacker Hafenluemmel (Giant-Knack-Harbour-Loud)!

We just got back from our vacation and had a wonderful time. In Amsterdam, we ate at Haesje Claes....the food was wonderful. In Hamburg, we had a dinner included at the hotel that we stayed at....it was ok, nothing too great. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
