I've got a 3/4 full bottle of sweet white muscat wine, it didn't go over well icon_cry.gif

I'd hate to toss it down the sink, and it really is too sweet to drink.

I'm planning on making meatballs in a sweetish tomato sauce tomorrow, in the crock. Do you think adding the wine would be a good idea? Would slow cooking in the crock turn it into something really disgusting?

I have personally never done anything in the CP with wine but don't see why it would hurt it.
But I did come across one recipe using wine here at zaar

    http://www.recipezaar.com/105963

I think it would be ok
most recipes call for dry white wine. icon_smile.gif

I would probably save it for something else, rather than the crockpot.

It might work well in something like this: Prawns in an Apple Sauternes Broth, instead of the Sauternes. A recipe where the wine is supposed to be sweet.

    Don't eat prawns, oops.

I'm going to try it, it's just the broth for the sweet/sour meatballs.

Well, I made my meatballs (giant ones, more like klops). I made the sauce out of tomato paste, the sweet white wine, a little brown sugar, lots of black pepper, and tons of paprika.

The smell is heavenly. I did taste the sauce a few minutes ago, this is going to be good!

Gimme a moment to think about it, I didn't measure anything!

Okay, I just posted the recipe, I'll post the link when it goes public.
