Hi,
I want to thank everyone for all their help all the time. It is much appreciated. I had a girlfriend who would make the best chicken flauta's *mexican food*
I would love to surprise my family and make these sometime but not sure of the recipe. If anyone has made these or has the recipe, I would really appreciate it..
Thanks again for all your help..

Hi faith! Welcome to RecipeZaar!!!
I searched the Zaar site for you and found these recipes.
Hope one of them is to your liking. The first one is exactly how I make flautas but it isn't my recipe.
Ckicken Flautas
Flautas this one calls for ground beef, but you could sub with chicken.
Mexican Taquitos (flautas)
Have fun!

Welcome to Recipezaar Faith. This is a recipe that I have but have not tried yet. Maybe you can tell me if it works well.
6 flour tortillas
1 cup shredded hot pepper Monterey Jack cheese
3/4 cup cooked chicken
3/4 t. ground cumin
1/3 cup chunky salsa
4 t. vegetable oil
Guacamole and sour cream
Combine the chicken, cheese and cumin in a small bowl
Place about 1/4 of the chicken mixture on each tortilla.
Top with 1 tablespoon salsa.
Roll tighly and secure with a toothpick; brush with oil.
Cook filled tortillas over medium heat in a 10 inch skillet 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally until filling is hot and tortillas are toasted.
Remove toothpicks and serve with guacamole and sour cream

Yes, queso fresco is mexican cheese. You could also use queso blanco. What is unique about these cheeses is that they will not melt. When heated they become creamy and smooth but do not melt. They are really nice for enchiladas too because they don't run out of the tortilla when heating in the oven.
I have bought both at Super WalMart and HEB grocery, but I think HEB is, I think, exclusively in Texas and Louisiana. I hope you can find some because it is well worth the effort.

Faith, you can post in customer support asking that Kathy only approve one of those for you. Don't worry, you will get the hand of things around here. The software they use is really pretty easy once you get used to it.

So I see! You have some very nice looking recipes and I have added a couple to my growing cookbooks.
edited to add: I noticed that your page says you have 12 recipes posted but I only see 5 of them. Are you making them public or keeping them private?

Go to your private cookbook and open each recipe. You will noticed a link with a gold lock icon next to "change visibility" click on that and this will send your recipe out for approval and to your public cookbook.

My mistake faith. It looks like you have to have premimum membership to have private recipes so my guess is that yours are still awaiting approval from the elves. Let me see if we can figure out why only 5 of your recipes are showing.
