Great topic!! Well, I rather like this dal.
    Puneri Dal (yellow Lentils Pune-style)

It's fun to make too, as you have to separately make the Goda Masala and I love roasting and grinding spices icon_wink.gif

    This is quite nice too:
    Fish in Spicy Yoghurt Sauce

Hey! Not wanting to hijjack the tread or anything, but where in India did you go? Are you going to post some wedding pics? Missed you too icon_biggrin.gif

I was in Southern India... mostly in Mangalore http://www.mangalore.com/

also spent a few days in Bangalore... we actually drove 8 hrs from Mangalore to Bangalore... and about an hour and a half into our journey down the state highway, the road was blocked due to a tanker that turned over... so we had to take the "back roads" LOL.... OH MY GOSH!.... the "state highway" was bad enough... but when we got onto these back roads, I thought I was on a safari... lol these roads were literally smaller than one lane, and you have these HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE busses trying to fly past you... and oh.. I forgot to mention, we were driving through the western Ghats lol... so the roads were wild and windy at the same time. Let me tell you! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! icon_lol.gif

I'll try to post photos asap icon_smile.gif

I MUST show you photos of all of the handicrafts I got icon_smile.gif

I have no idea how authentically Indian this is, but I thought it was delicious:

I also love MEAN CHEF's Lamb and Tomato Curry recipe #95373.

Wish I had more chances to have Indian food.

PS I just saw your photo on your "about me" page. icon_biggrin.gif Is it new? It's beautiful.

Thank you icon_biggrin.gif It was last May for my friends' graduation. This coming May is going to be me.

Tikka Marsala: I actually don't have a recipe. The best ones I've had are in Jersey City and Plainsboro near Princeton. I have some mix I bought at the grocery store in Jersey, so when I make the dish, I just have to add yogurt to marinate, then cook it off. icon_redface.gif

Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in the UK... maybe someone in the British Cooking section knows a good recipe icon_lol.gif
I used to have a lower fat recipe for it but its ingredients and directions are literally as long as my arm and because of that I've not used it in a very long time.

I did a search on Zaar, and there are quite a few recipes, some with delicious-looking photos. I may try one of them to start. (When I figure out how to get the time - I work evenings, so usually don't cook during the week.)
