Zurie, I'm sorry for your loss. It was scary to hear Gideon was in the hospital, and I'm now deeply saddened that he has passed. We're all here for you!

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way

Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

    Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
    that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
    There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
    For an interval.
    Somewhere. Very near.
    Just around the corner.

    All is well.

    Love FT/Karen

    Hi Karen miss you here.
Henry Scott Holland wrote it perfectly. Never out of mind or heart.

In reading Zuri's description on this recipe, I read the book that she is referring to. I may have to pick it up again, and re-read it. I don't remember this being in the book.

My heart sank when I read Zuri's post this morning on FB and am so glad that you jumped right on this cook-a-thon in memory of her dear husband.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make something that frightens me to no end...a yeast bread!

There are so many fabulous looking recipes to choose from I could eat Zuri's food every day for months!

To simplify my selections I chose recipes to utilize what I have on hand except for the pate. My excursion in to town today netted zero chicken livers icon_eek.gif but I will find them!

For now I would like to tag:
Chicken Liver Paté With Port Wine and Pistachios 334381
    Zurie's Overnight No-Knead Bread 196201
    Lazy Cook's Pork Chops 197226
and Picnic Bread (From South Africa) 133908 which I have had saved forever! It looks scrumptious.
