I came back today to hunt up a recipe I reviewed a while ago and was at once reminded why I don't bother to come here anymore. Ugly, hard to view and hard to figure out how to bring up my own review. Congrats on taking a fun place and destroying it. Not sure what any of you do to earn your money-not much I'd say.

I have to agree. Since Food.com or whoever bought Recipezaar the site has gone progressive,y downhill. The search software is far clumsier and most recently makes even typing in a few words into the search box unbelievably frustrating as after 2-3 letters one repeatedly interrupted by the program trying to fill in (likely wrong) . With each transformation it worsens. Now the forums like this are harder to access. I can overlook all the ads, but really mind the loss of the 'community' feel of the site, and it's formerly more nimble search function.

I don't have a solution to address most of the site's ills, but I can recommend you bookmark this link to easily find our forums: www.food.com/bb

We're still here and participating and would LOVE to see more of you in the forums.

Me too. I'm about done here. Too incompetent.I'll be at allrecipes while I see if they can clean up this mess. If not, I'll transfer my stuff there.

Well,...no changes here. What would it take for this place to "Regress" a bit and make things simpler again? The new search flat sucks. So much for browsing anything like,..say..condiments. I don't want a flowing page of pre-picked recipes only with photos. Get that? IT'S USELESS! Good for bloody slag-all nothing!

I'm betting only a mass member exodus will got things fixed.

How comforting. That's like saying "Yeah, it's all fooked up,...and what? U mad? Sorry. Can't fix it."

Not sure what you mean. If you use the Recipe Sifter, select Course and then Condiments, you get all the recipes where the contributor has marked Condiment as the type of recipe. Not just recipes with photos. You might not agree on whether something qualifies as a condiment, but it is not prepicked recipes with photos, as you allege.

I didn't even know the recipe sifter was there! That's an awesome tool. Maybe if their was a recipe sifter button next to the search box. That way people could take advantage of it more. The website is not as polished and streamlined as it could be. But it is functional. It's hard to do good web development with out money. I mean... lol look at healthcare . gov icon_lol.gif millions and millions of dollars thrown at that and it's horrible! Doesn't work half the time, and absolutely filled with security flaws. And Food doesn't have corporate sponsors. Or thieves (IRS).

Scripps owns Food.com and has a BOATLOAD of money. http://www.scrippsnetworksinteractive.com/
The staff knows we don't like the Sifter where it is and say that it's on the list. Awful l-l-l-o-o-o-n-n-n-g-g-g list these days, not much gets checked off.

Makes sense. They own food network. I'm sure they get many more daily hits than food.com does.

Well, my problem is that ....red bar at the top (you know, what's new,top recipes..etc.)
Every time my mouse hits that thing I end up in another forum. It is almost impossible to get to my recipe box because I hit one of those items.
I tried 5 times today to get to my recipes without being thrown into another place.
I am going to print out my recipes.........and good-bye.

This site has been broken for years! Don't hold your breath that it will change any time soon. I joined almost 10 years ago and have watched it go downhill starting shortly thereafter. I only come here to get the recipes I have on this site.

But. . .. but . ... despite going downhill steadily in a myriad of ways, the staff is adamant that they are making substantial improvements over anything experienced in the past. rotfl.gif

The improvements are in somebody's pockets; Advertisers are the only ones that matter now.
