So, coconut oil is solid, comes in a jar, and it can be pricy (or not...have smelling salts, just in case--lol!). Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

(When I first saw the title of this thread, I had to google Mavis Beacon too. icon_lol.gif )

Edited to add: I ordered a small jar of coconut oil from Amazon. It probably doesn't take much when used this way? Looking forward to being dust-free for awhile! icon_cool.gif

Glad you asked about Mavis Beacon Becky. I didn't know either - just figured I had missed something, which is nothing new.

LOL... sorry guys! Here's what happened...

I didn't take a typing class in High School and when I got to College I was totally screwed. Mind you this was circa 1985.

So... I bought the Mavis Beacon tutorial on floppy disks to learn how to type! LOL

Floppy discs were the only storage option back then. No CD/DVD and certainly no internet.

Late to the part here but I've enjoyed seeing your cats and reading about Mavis! icon_lol.gif

The Virgin Coconut oil smells like coconut but they almost always sell a 'descented' one as well. I buy both because I do not like coconut smelling chops as a rule. lt is also cheaper. The Virgin Coconut oil has a number of health benefits about which there are reems written. I use it in asian dishes and for my hair and as a body lotion (I melt it and add essential oils for the body lotion). When IB told Di and Di told me I hauled out the unscented one, melted it and added a bunch of drops of sweet orange essential oil. It solidifies again to look like paste wax but can be used both ways. It really, truly does a) a great job of cleaning and polishing wood furniture and b) it magically does reduces the frequency of the need to dust, I can definitely vouch for it. My next batch will have some fall smelling oils and near Christmas I'll switch to Bayberry. How cool is it to be able to adjust your furniture polish by season! icon_cool.gif

Actually, it was Demon who was trying to channel Mavis thru his butt via my keyboard.

BTW I was reading an article today and wonder if you are Christy Walton.

The resemblance is uncanny. You have a Doppelgänger!

Oh my gosh, she looks exactly like my Aunt Peggy -- my mum's sister.
No wonder my family says I look like Aunt Peggy. icon_smile.gif
