I can say, in the last 4-5 years; lots of changes. Many, NOT good ones. Lots of nasty comments, posts, etc.; as well as issues with the site. Just aggravating. Lots of people moving, changing, and just not participating. I've heard more negative rather than positive things lately from many people. NOT just this thread, but more so overall.

I'm just tired. But, I will move with Shapes; and, I would be open to having the dinner thread somewhere else if needed. I also will continue to stop in the both CC's, as well as a couple of other areas. However, I try to stay away from the drama which is one of the reasons why I don't participate as much. I come here for fun; and to share ideas and recipes. I have enough drama in my life outside of "internet land." I don't need any more, LOL.

Where ever it may be, I will go. But drama ... I stay clear of that.

The community cafe or whatever it has been named, is extremely BORING. Where is Potsie, Dibs, The brat packs, Mean Chef, Riff Raff, Dojemi, Zaney 1, iron bloomers, Mirj, Toolie, Unknown Chef, qnd and on and on....It's the select few who feel the need to control this site....which is, like I posted,
BOOOOOORRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGGGG! Sure wish I knew where they went... icon_rolleyes.gif sickening...

How rude! You are a member of this site with no posted recipes or reviews, and I've never seen you posting here before, and have the gall to call this place boring? Where do you come off? I'm really sick of people tearing this place down. What do you do to contribute? HMMMMM?

Of course this is what I expected. What do I have to contribute? nothing. Zaar (yep, Zaar) used to be a fun place to be. People were able to express their opinions, but got canned when it upset the "tight asses" rights. waaaaahhhh...."ban them, they hurt my feelings.... icon_sad.gif " ...yeah, okay.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh right, Becky, Because I don't have any recipes posted or have anything else worthy of this site, I shouldn't be posting???? Last I checked, I posted in the "Everything Else" Forum. Which, what I understood, was anything else other than food. Didn't know I had to post anything to be a member. It's people like you (and a few others) that will have this site obsolete in no time.. (and yes, ,it was called "Everything Else" before "Community Cafe" )

If the forum was called Everything Else the last time you graced us with your presence, it's been a very, very, very long time. These days, we have more than 50 forums for folks to choose from. Back then, I think there might have been four or five.

Many of those folks you're referring to are still participating on the site. Potsie and Dibs hang out primarily in the Critter Café but if you look at this forum's topics list, you'll see posts by both of them. Iron Bloomers and Toolie both hang out in their preferred forums. We're all older now and some of us are struggling with health issues. I believe Riff Raff passed away, as did Miller, ejmatl, Redneck Epicurean and quite a few others who are sorely missed. Life happened to some of us and the absentees don't have time to hang out with us anymore. Mirj is a good example. She remarried, took a demanding job and is now a doting gramma. Zaney changed her name. A few folks did. We have a good crew here and if you gave the forum a chance, you might find you enjoy it.

If you don't like the topics on offer here in the Community Café, please feel free to start topics you ARE interested in.

I take offense to the "people like you" comment! You are the first person to really get me upset. I knew as soon as I posted that I would regret it. You don't know me, and I don't know you (thank goodness). Yes, RecipeZaar was a good place.i miss it a lot. But, things change, and people change. Well, some do, and should.

I enjoy coming here and interacting with the people that are here. When someone criticizes "this place", I take it personally. Because, unlike others, I'm making an effort to make this a place to come to.

The only thing I will apologize for is being sucked in by the likes of you. It won't ever happen again!

    Peace out! And carry on!

Hi, stepping in as this conversation is getting heated and unnecessarily offensive. Lyn Ann, please respect others in this forum and watch the language. There is no reason to hurt feelings of the people that participate here. We can discuss privately if necessary.

    Thanks,

Mean Chef has been gone for many, many years, possibly since before I joined, which was eight years ago. I never saw anything he ever posted. His recipes have all been adopted. There are a couple of people in that list I have never heard of, as far as I can recall. As far as the recent changes, they are probably better off left undisturbed at this point. Change happens, sometimes not for the better, but it happens.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what became of Uncle Bill?

Various people have reached out to him, but there's been no response on any front. There are no obituaries for his name in the town he lives in.
