    This day

    Becky in Wisconsin

Let me start by saying, I know I'm probably not the only one who feels this way.

So, I hate this date more than any other day of the year. I hate this day even more than the anniversary of my fathers death. The senselessness, and loss. It just brings up hurts I don't want to visit. I did not personally lose anyone in the attacks, but I felt it in my core. The overwhelming sadness I felt this day 12 years ago haunted me badly today for some reason. I was cranky and sad. NOT like myself at all. I was very impatient with my employees, and my customers. NOT GOOD. I kept my composure with the customers, but my people working today, got the brunt of it. Working today was my mom, and another lady. I snapped badly at my mom, well, because I can, and she will love me not matter what. I felt HORRIBLE, and I apologized. She said she didn't think anything of it. I was short with the other lady, but not too short. I did apologize to her, and she said the same thing, that she didn't even notice. I don't know if they were both being nice and really didn't notice, or didn't want to anger me any further.

So, on this horrible day, I am going to bed now. God bless, and good night. Next year, I'm going to sleep on September 10th, and waking up on September 12th. Skipping this most awful day altogether. One saying that sticks with me most for today: ALWAYS REMEMBER, NEVER FORGET.

Becky, I felt exactly the same as you. I was either in tears or near tears all day long. I didn't lose anyone in the attack and can only imagine how horrible the anniversary is for those who did, and for those who experienced it first-hand.

9/11/01 was a horrible day. I remember it vividly and remember where I was and the conversations I had as the events unfolded. It is difficult to believe it has already been 12 years.

Maybe remembering this day will make people be kinder to others and remember that life is precious and short.

Hope your today is going better.

You can't skip or ignore it because it is painful. And it is a painful day for all of us, especially if you had a loved one who died, ,or if you live in the New York City area and were able to witness up close the events as they unfolded. It is a day we must remember. Pray for those who lost lives and for the families that lost loved ones. But never forget.
