I've got 9 egg yolks. What can I make with them?

The only thing I can think of is curd but a quick scan of some of the recipes means I'd need to make too many batches to use them up.

We'll all come over for eggs Benedict on Sunday, so you're going to need a lot of Hollandaise. Add them to scrambled eggs or quiches. Creme brulee. Ice cream. Pasta dough. Flan. Freeze them. Or, Egg Yolk Cookies.

    DUCKY:
Good morming. Ducky the best CHALLAH bread is made with egg yolks. 20% of the weight of the flour. are yolks. Large yolks weigh 5/8ths of an oz (.625,oz) 9 X .625 = 5.5/8ths oz. You will require 28, oz of flour for challah bread.

Just some food for thought for your consideration.

Good luck in your baking & enjoy the rest of the day.

Flan, or yolk only sponge cake- Nigella lawson site has a great yolk only cake but it makes a small single layer cake so you could double it. You could also use a few yolks in swedish meatballs.
I also make the regular toll house chocoalte chip cookies with 3 yolks instead of the 2 eggs it calls for and you get a really nice cookie like the store bought one they are bake up fuller and chewier.

Also, you could buy the carton of just whites at the grocery and proceed per normal making something egg based, like breakfast bakes for the freezer.

    Now there's a thought! Brilliant icon_biggrin.gif
I cannot tell you how many egg yolks have gotten tossed waiting for e to use them up. And then there are the times I don't get thru a carton of egg whites. I gotta remember to freeze this stuff.

One of these days I'll have my act together.

I make banana cream pie. I also measure out the right amount for pies and freeze them. Works really well.
