My team-mates suggested I try the photo forum for help with my problem:

How does one take a picture from another source and add it to a post?
I use a Mac, so there's no "right click".
I want to use, for example, a photo of an Olympic Air jet for my Greek WEdding report. I know it's possible, but can't remember how. Any thoughts? (I know how to use photobucket but some of the pics I want aren't on there...)

Taking a screen shot and dragging it on here didn't work, either. When I post photos of the recipes I make, I have to load my card into the computer, down load into iPhoto, then go to photobucket, upload it there, then get the url or whatever to post it on here. Phew.

Hi Linky, I do not have a mac so when Zurie comes on in the morning she may or not have better advice than I do.

I always right click and go to property's and copy and paste the url address for posting photos.

As you said you could not right click to do that I looked up how to copy and past with a mac and how to copy a url address.

Hope one of these can maybe help you out.

Thanks for the links - they don't deal with what I'm trying to do, though. But ya never know, right? Maybe Zurie knows! (Hi Zurie! hope your beautiful South African winter is blessing you with lovely, cool weather!)

Hi Linky!! Sometimes rather too cool for comfort -- when the sun dips at 3.30 it gets real chilly! Fortunately that's when we switch on big aircon! icon_wink.gif

Your problem: I don't have a Mac either, and have no idea how a Mac even works, as compared to a PC!

(What I do when needing a picture for a banner -- or, when taking part in ZWT, for illustrating something (like your airliner) -- is to find a suitable photo on Google (Images).

But now comes the crunch: with a PC I right-click, I get a drop-down menu, and I get the option: "Save picture as". I then save it to a folder in my photos, and later download it to Photobucket, where I get the link address to copy, and then drop it in the forum).

You probably know that part -- but you cannot right-click on a Mac.

But there must be a Mac option somewhere (maybe left-click?) allowing you to save the link to the photo you want?

If you can find the photo's link address ,or it might be called "inspect element", click on that, highlight and copy, and you can drop that address straight into the forum. Then you highlight that link address/inspect element/properties and click on IMAGE above this posting box.

I just don't know what it is called on a mac, but you really should have the option, somewhere, of finding the URL of the photo. Then you don't even have to take the photo to Photobucket first.

Does all this sound too hard? If I misunderstood anything, please post again.

I can hardly believe that an Apple Mac do NOT have the option of saving a link to a photo. You could try to copy the photo, but that has never worked for me.

I have a Mac somewhere in the basement, but do not propose dragging it out icon_biggrin.gif

However, I did find this on how to copy an image on a Mac - hoping that once you copy it, you can come back here, then click the image button and paste the picture in.

Thanks to all; I can easily copy photos from the internet/ Google images, etc. onto my Word document, but can't find the URL like you guys can do on pc's with your right click "save as" option. There is only one click on a mac. There is a "save as" option, but doesn't give me the url/img/whatever.

I'll keep trying - hey, I've got 5 days before My Big Greek Wedding is due!!!

Thanks, again!!

Linky, here's what I did. I copied your perfectly good photo URL, and (because I'm using Google Chrome I have to do it manually) I pasted it in the answering box, and put at the end. (No spaces anywhere, remember).

You may be able to simply highlight the URL, and then click on "image" above the box in which you type.

(I used this URL: )

I also think I found a way:

Took a screen shot of the pic I wanted, "right clicked" (I found out from linking to a link from your link !!!!!!) saved to my iPhoto, then to photobucket then voila... here it is.

Thank you all!

Linky, Deb asked for help with the Mac problem, and here's Elf Jillian's answer! Hope it helps!

Hi Deb - on a Mac, they can hover over the image and then press down on the mousepad with two fingers - that will prompt the options to pop up for saving images.

My answer was a bit long-winded -- that 1st one.

Remember -- if you can get the photo address/URL, you can drop it STRAIGHT into the forum, and then do as I explained above. The must be at the beginning and end of the URL before you click "Post".

And again -- voilá! icon_lol.gif
