    Adding Protein to Baked Goods

    Hi all wave.gif

I'm working on increasing my protein intake (I tend to be a carb freak, so often don't get enough), and was wondering if anyone adds protein powder to their baked goods, or other things? I generally have a fruit/yogurt/protein shake for lunch, and Kashi high fiber/high protein cereal for breakfast, but I'm looking for some other options.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Hi Katzen, I saw this article Nd thought of you:

Chances are you're actually getting too much protein if you're supplementing. I think you'll be surprised by how little you need and how easy it is to get. I fear it's another meat industry propaganda to make people worry about this mythical protein shortage.

But to answer your question, I've never tried adding protein powder to baked goods. But I bet if you are using soy milk and whole wheat flour, you already have a good basis. Nuts and nut butters would be another good plant-based source.

    Happy baking!

And this showed up on my Facebook page this morning:

Within the article is a four-page guide to plant based protein. But I didn't know how to just send the link to that. Must be an iPad thing....

Thanks, WICC! I appreciate the articles!

I'm trying to supplement (maybe supplement isn't the right word... I just tend to gravitate towards carbs)... so, trying to eat more protein containing foods rather than empty carbs.
