Has anyone been to the Danish town in Iowa? They have very nice place to eat called Danish Inn where they serve home style Danish inspired buffet. Everything tasted very fresh and yummy.

What's it near? I go to Iowa every couple of years to visit the Herbert Hoover library and museum and the Amana colonies. Is it anything like Solvang in California - although I have to admit I have not been there in many years....

4116 Main St, Elk Horn, IA 51531 The town is not like Solvang, but very, very rural. It does have a windmill though. It is off of I-80 - maybe about 4 miles from the exit.

Here is their buffet lunch menu: Smørrebrød

From one of the gift shops, I came back with very nice Nordic Bakery Cookbook by Miisa Mink. Wonderful book for people who like to bake. So far I've tried making Little Butter Buns - totally yummy.
