I know this is probably a hopeless question and I'm a little embarressed to even be asking it. But early in the week while cleaning house I had the Food Network on TV and while running past it saw a show (I hadn't seen before - but had a pretty blond hostess) showing a small ice cream cake with chocolate frosting and a sparkler on it - I kept thinking I've got to get back to the TV and right it down as it would be PERFECT to serve for DHs b-day.

Well, never did and ever since I've regretted it and have been trying to search everywhere for the recipe with no luck. Did anyone see it or have any ideas??? She was showing a cake from a famous restaurant and was remaking it at home.

    Hi Bonnie!

Just saw your post. That ice cream cake sounds fantastic. Maybe you could try using a (softened) good ice cream and scrape it into a lined cake tin, and then use a chocolate ganache (choc melted in cream with a little butter) as frosting.

I have a recipe here which also sounds yummy and seems very easy to do: Nutella and Ice Cream Cake. wave.gif

Thanks Zurie, I've been thinking of that and the recipe sounds like it would do the trick. Next time I see something that grabs my attention you can bet I'll write it down first before rushing of to do anything else. icon_mad.gif
