So happy for you Jacqueline. It's wonderful news.
We're having house guests for the next few days, so I won't be around.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Happy Mothers day to all you Mothers and to those of us that played the role of mother. I know I have been a parent to a lot of children, yet none of them were mine. I am sure most everyone has done the same. As I watched folks post about their mothers on FB today I couldn't help but think of all the mothers out there (most are in heaven now) that have played the role of mother to me in years past.

I do understand, Jacqueline! There were several women who were like a mother to me. There have been some children that I have acted as a mother to.

Hope everyone is doing great both weight wise and life wise. I decided to make a banana pudding today, the old fashion kind that you usually don't see anymore, but decided my house needed cleaning worse. So I am cleaning out the door my mother kept her cookbooks in and moving them to one of my bookcases because I need that drawer to keep my KA parts in. LOL I also had to drag out the sewing machine yesterday and torn two rooms apart doing so. One room was to get to the sewing machine and the other was to look for the book on how to thread the needle. You can tell I don't use it often. So I may as well clean the entire house. Hope everyone has a great week.

Your story makes me laugh. When I clean the entire house it gets a whole
lot worse before it gets a whole lot better. icon_smile.gif

Jacqueline and Laury, you are both so right about the other mothers in our lives. I did 2 postings on FB yesterday. One thanking that I had so many mothers in my life including my mom, dad (was a single dad to 2 pre-teen girls), sister, step-mom and all my other moms. Then another one about parents that have Angel Babies, the ones that want to be parents but can't, or have lost a child along the way.

Jacqueline, LOL love your story about all the cleaning. I just wish this old sewing machine my sis gave me had a book for it. I really should get around to trying to figure it out.

Me, well I spent all yesterday doing laundry. We think the heating element is gone, so I was "air fluffing" each load for about 2 hours yesterday then got fed up and hung everything up on hangers in the bedroom windows. Thankfully I have 2 windows in my room. It was hot and windy enough that everything was dry in a couple hours. I did end up leaving everything hanging all over the walk-in closet just to be sure they are dry before I put them away. While laundry was going I spent the day lounging on my bed playing games on my phone. Around 5 I came out of my room and started making a huge batch of Stir-Fry Veggies. I got enough done for 6 meals, we ate one and I put the rest in the freezer. I also go my exercise in this week. Even my Squat Challenge is going well. Today is my rest day, but I am thankful for it was it was a busy day at work. I prepped lunch for about 150 people but we only had 50. I am pretty tired right now. I should have taken a nap instead of coming on the computer.

Peggy and tasb, my entire house didn't get cleaned. I have a habit of just jumping from here to there. I did get my cabinets cleaned, spotless as a matter of fact and got a few things elsewhere put up. Floors come tomorrow a long with a dust rag to clean, but I am making my banana pudding tomorrow. (Even if the house doesn't get finished.)

I get that completely. My house never gets clean all in one go.
    Enjoy that pudding. icon_smile.gif

Jacqueline and Leggy Peggy, when I try to clean one thing other things get messy also. icon_smile.gif I almost have to wait until Tom is gone before I clean.

tasb, if you tell me the brand name of your sewing machine, I may be able to find the manual. I have a few sites which have many. It sounds as if you had a hard day with the laundry.

Today is Tom's birthday. I send him 2 cards and I am paying for dinner to be delvered tonight. He has a restaurant/bar he enjoys where the manager is his friend. Tom, my sister and I are going there for lunch. I finished my walking for this week. I keep having asthma attacks so I can't exercise as much as I want to. I have lost 2 pounds however.

Thanks Leggy Peggy! We both had a great day. I was introduced to Tom's friend. Since I fell my glasses keep falling off my face. I mentioned it to Tom. He examined them and said that the hinge was broken. We also got them fixed yesterday. I always have a few pair of glasses lying around. I just wore an extra pair
