I use allrecipes app all the time and would love to have the same convenience with Food.com. Every time I'm at the grocery store I see something I want to try and I can be impatient. I want try it that night. Pulling up a recipe to get ideas while I'm shopping is one of the best things to come out of this technology craze. I love this website PLEASE MAKE A DROID AND APPLE APP.

    FREE Recipe Conversion App:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redbinary.rmc&hl=en

    FEATURES:
    * Values can be entered and displayed as either fractions or decimals
    * Will make the coveted "grams to cups" conversion, as well as other weight/volume conversions, based on user-selectable weight factor parameter
    * Quick switch between scaling yields to general 1:1 units (by tapping "Yield" section to collapse it)
    * Also serves as a general reference of cooking units, temperatures & gas marks, and decimal equivalents to fractions

If you want to, for instance, know how many tablespoons are in a cup:

Set the ratio to 1:1 by either clearing out the top section or collapsing it (by tapping the header labeled "Yield". Tapping the header again will bring it back). Now you can see the equivalent amount in any unit for any unit that you enter into the "Original" field.

I just downloaded the Paprika app, and I love it. It costs $4.99, but well worth it. Very easy to download Food.com recipes, as well as other sites and adding your own. I've always used the My Cookbook feature to save my recipes on the site, but since the more recent changes, it's almost impossible to find My Cookbook. Very frustrating! I wish Food.com had made an app, but glad I found a suitable substitute.

Hover your cursor over the blue box to the right of your name. The box that opens collects your personal data - recipes, reviews, cookbooks. Cookbooks are all in the left hand column, with My Cookbook on top.

Food.com has really screwed up by not giving us, THE CUSTOMERS what we have been screaming for....AN APP........and they don't care either. They will not rot even give us a date for an app. Instead, they do stupid stuff we did not ask for or want. In fact, everytime we get a new release, they seem intent on making it worse. Thankngoodness that something like Paprika.com now exists where we can just take all of our stuff, and take the best of all the sites and copy things into ONE place. Now, that is a real app that customers really want. Too bad Food.com could not figure that out.....or even care.

Hey everyone. I'm a software developer and I saw the chatter for the want for an app. Is that still the case? If it is, I'm looking for a side project outside of work to help bolster my resume and I think doing something like this would be great for me. I have sent an email over to the people who host the site asking for permission to do this so if I get a "yes" back I will get right to work on it. My question to the other users is what kind of features are people looking for in an app?

I apologize if I'm not allowed to post this in the forums but I'm just trying to help. Thanks guys.

Well if Food.com doesn't want to do their own app, there's FREE hope for us Android users, at least.
Paprika works just fine, but it costs $4.99. Granted, not much to throw down for a cookbook database, but it's expensive compared to FREE. icon_smile.gif

Search the Google Play store for My Cookbook. I just imported a recipe from this site, and it came through without problems whatsoever.

I'm off to start shopping for dinner! icon_smile.gif

YES, still looking for a Food.com app for Android!!! I use this site all the time and the other apps I've tried just aren't doing it for me. I would like to be able to search for recipes by ingredient, also excluding certain ingredients, save recipes, access my saved recipes and cookbooks, and use the menu-planner and shopping list features. Also, if you're feeling particularly adventurous, it would be great to add other features such as what is available on the Out of Milk app, like a Pantry List, so you know what you already have at home, and the ability to sync it to the Shopping List so duplicate items are not purchased. I would GLADLY pay good money for an app like that!!!
