Just found this thread after an unsuccessful search at the App Store - I see an app was in the works in June 2012. Is it out?

I was looking for an android app also. This is by far the best recipe site, but I would get so much more use out of it of there was an app I could quickly access.

Oh, oh, I want an android app, too. It would be a great benefit for this site. I seldom use any other recipe site than this one.

Just joined this site after finding a great tri tip recipe. But totally shocked when I discovered there wasn't an Android app to grab my saved recipe while at the store. Welcome to the 90's, Food.com icon_wink.gif

I don't understand why Food.com doesn't have an Android app when their partner FoodNetwork.com has several apps.

    Dear Food.com staff,

Can we please have an update on how we can use an Android device to view our cookbook?

Is there an app in development? If so, where do we sign up to be testers?

    Thanks

The fact that you don't have an app yet is unacceptable. I'm currently searching for alternatives to your site. I love the site, but I'm done waiting. I thought there would be one by now. You really need to make this priority number 1 or your site will be obsolete in short order. I use my droid for shopping and in the kitchen for cooking. I've wanted to stay a loyal customer, but at this point I'm done. Good luck Food.com

At the very least, can you expose an API for us so we can develop one independently? I can certainly put one together if you expose the API.

    Hi everyone,

I'm the Community Manager here for Food.com and I wanted to provide an update on the app situation.

While not an app in the traditional sense, we recently mobile optimized our site.

We did just launch our first app as a test in the space - for our Every Day is a Food Holiday feature. You can find more information about it in our blog post here: http://blog.food.com/happenings/2013/08/08/every-day-is-a-food-holiday-for-iphone-ipad-now-in-the-app-store

Or, download it and give it a try. It just launched so your feedback (be it about glitches or awesomeness) is much appreciated: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/food.com-every-day-is-food/id675311088?mt=8&ls=1

I'm pretty excited by our entry into the app market - it's only good things from here!

How is the site optimised for mobile? Is there a different URL I need to try? Because right now I can't even access My Cookbooks properly from my mobile which makes the site pretty much useless for me unless I'm on a PC.

    Hugely disappointing.

    Hi Jillian,

I was looking for a mobile app for Food.com and found that you don't have one even after so many user requests.

We are into mobile application develoment business. We can help you develop an Android and iPhone applications.

The cost of mobile development in India is really affordable. For example for one plateform the Food.com application will cost you only about $ 2000-3000.
