    Salad Night!

Some nights ... salad is a good thing.

I try to have a big salad now and then. Add a mix of what's in my fridge and use up a protein on hand. Tonight was sort of a classic salad.

Fresh greens from my garden. A mix of romaine, red leaf, and butter
Topped with chopped green olives, egg, grape tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, bacon bits (the real stuff), and smoked chicken from Sun.
Finished with homemade garlic croutons, crushed, then tossed with the salad.
Dressing ... I cheated; a bottle ranch dressing. Something I rarely have on a salad, but just felt like it. Publix brand ... and, it really is a descent dressing. I keep it on hand as a dip for carrots and celery - but, tonight it is dressing.

A home made rye roll, ABM from this weekend, on the side.

My g/f stopped over, so I made each look plate look pretty by lining the veggies up before we tossed them with dressing

    With the croutons

    Tossed before the dressing

    And, dressed

A really good-looking, healthy meal! Sorry I only got round to this this minute. Bad connection here -- storms and floods of rain yesterday -- don't know if that affects my wireless thingie.
