    a very simple bananabread(cake reciepe needed!! please help.

    i really need a very very simple reciepe for bananabread or and cake. i love the stuff but here in sweden its not common so im turning here for help to find a simple fast way to make it myself. also this will be made my young children so it must be very very simple. really hoping for help. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_sad.gif

    Here is a recipe for an easy banana cake which uses cake mix (easy for the kids).

    Here's teh one we make. Also good with chocolate chips added.

    Banana Bread

    From Favorite Recipes, Felician Sisters cookbook, Our Lady of Angels Convent, Enfield, CT

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 ½ tsp. baking powder
    ½ tsp. baking soda
    ½ tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1/3 cup shortening
    2/3 cup sugar
    1 cup mashed ripe bananas
    3 tbspn. buttermilk (Note: or milk with a little lemon juice.)
    ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

    Grease and flour a 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. Sift flour, measure and resift with baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cream shortening and sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Stir in freshly mashed bananas, buttermilk, and nuts. Add flour in four portions and beat until smooth after each portion. Turn into prepared pan and bake at 325-350 degrees for 1 to 1 ¼ hours. Remove to cake rack. Cool before slicing. Makes 1 loaf.

    This is by far the best banana bread I have ever had. I've been making this fir over 20 years.

    I found this delicious, easy and simple (with only 5 ingredients), banana cake recipe that want to try soon, and am sure kids would love to do the pokes in the cake and have some fun with it, too: icon_biggrin.gif icon_wink.gif
