You've all convinced me. I'm buying coconut oil next time I go to the store.

Be sure to buy good quality, organic virgin coconut oil.

"Wear it, eat it - it's all good!" K9 this just struck me as hilarious!!!!
The bread made with coconut oil turned out nicely. I noticed a sweeter smell while the bread was baking but not a difference in flavor.
I did purchase organic extra virgin. Not cheap but cheaper at Costco than other places. Sure glad I like it because everyone knows how big the containers are at Costco.

I like Trader Joe's brand but there is another brand I've bought (forgot the name!) that I like. I found it at our natural food store on sale. I see pure coconut oil on sale all the time.

I love it. Skin, hair, in my belly.....as K9 said, "it's all good".
I like the Virgin for eating, the regular for cooking if I don't want the scent of coconut, and it's nice in coffee. Soft lips when your done

Just found out, it is WONDERFUL on pancakes! Oh, I'm hooked on this stuff. I have bloodwork scheduled in a couple of months. We'll see if there is a difference.

I haven't tried it on pancakes. I will now!
Glad you like it. Some people can't get over the smell and others just don't like coconut. Trust me on this though...do not pan fry chops or a steak with it unless you want a Caribbean themed meal.

I think I used less syrup because I was enjoying the flavor of the coconut oil. Normally I use the little bit of syrup at a time. I found I was reaching for the bottle less.
I DO LIKE IT! I don't pan fry meat so I'm clear there. There are some over ripe nanners in the fridge which are begging to be experimented with. I'm thinking banana bread will be over the top with coconut oil.

Will do. My next bloodwork is due May 13th. That should be enough time to reflect any difference. I am also taking increased fish oil but I like the coconut oil sooooooooooooo much better than swallowing those huge capsules.

racrgal - take them both! They do different things and are both good for you. You can buy fish oil in a lemon flavoured liquid - I tried it and went back to those huge capsules because no matter how well disguised - fish oil tastes fishy!

Got that saved but I don't have a stand mixer. I'll have to determine if I am prepared to use the hand held mixer for 7 minutes. Alternately - I may have to buy a stand mixer

I tried the orange flavored liquid. It was pretty nasty too. My doctor told me if you freeze the capsules, you won't get that fishy taste. I never tried it because if I didn't keep my fish oil with the rest of my pills, I'd forget to take it.
