I've been working late just about every evening for the past couple of weeks - my husband has even had to feed The Jar almost every night! The poor thing (Jar, not the husband) (though he's starting to feel a little sorry for himself too) ANYWAY - he's so good when I get home. He will sit in the living room, right in the doorway to the front entry, and wait until I take off my coat, hang it up, take off my boots, then sit down on the bench. THEN he'll get up and come over and say hi. icon_smile.gif Last night, he met me right at the door, then went back to the living room doorway and waited for our greeting ritual.

ANYWAY, last night after dinner, my husband and I sat on the the couch to watch a little TV, and Jar was lying in the middle of the living room floor and he started this, well, it wasn't exactly whining. More like a soft moaning - but in a "pay attention to me" sort of way, you know?

So I slid down onto the floor, and my butt hadn't even touched the floor yet, when he was up and hovering over me, waiting for me to get comfortable.

Then he sat on my lap. icon_rolleyes.gif

My husband tried to get a photo, but as soon as he saw the camera, Jar said "oh, no, you're not posting that for the whole internet to see I'm a Mama's boy" and he got up and laid down next to me. icon_lol.gif

Aggghhh! 179 pounds of dog elbows, right in the gut. Mine isn't as big as Jar, but once during a Very Scary Thunderstorm, she crawled up on the couch (major no-no) and into my lap. Not next to me, not partially on me. 55 pounds of squirming, quivering dog elbows sitting completely on my lap. And hyperventilating her dog breath directly into my face. Good times!

Great job with the greeting ritual! How nice not to be swarmed.

I know exactly the moaning sound - it is truly pathetic. Clearly Jarly boy has been missing his Mum. There is no such thing as too big for a lap icon_lol.gif

He is such a big baby. icon_rolleyes.gif

And Anne, whenever we have a thunderstorm, Jar just goes upstairs and curls up between the bed and the dresser - though I hate to think what he'd do if he could get up into the bed. . .

Kate is afraid of thunderstorms too. We usually find her under a bed somewhere, but don't imagine Jar can get under the bed. icon_smile.gif
