Is it possible to make pesto without using cheese or any dairy? Would like to have a recipe if there is one.

Thanks. I tried to find a recipe using dairy free as the main category and got no results.Never thought to try vegan.

I never put cheese in pesto, and prefer to add cheese when using it. Just omit it from any pesto recipe and use slightly less oil. I also include some parsley for brighter color and flavor.

I don't add the cheese either unless I plan to add cheese to the dish anyways. I make a mint pesto for lamb and no cheese and it is great with fish too. I prefer to add cheese as a garnish.

Thanks to all that responded. I will be making pesto without cheese from now on. I never thought that it would work before. Guess I should be more daring!
