I have been looking for a recipe for a long time. Hope someone can help me. It is a very thin beef gravy, that you can all most see through. We had it at an Amish resturant. I just can't seem to make it.

Thank you, both recipes sound good. Also, I found Kittencal's recipe. It sounds good, also. Thanks for your help. Maybe I can find one that my hubby likes. He was in love with the gravy we had at the resturant.

My amish restaurant makes a thin beef gravy which is just a au jus. They thicken it slightly with corn starch. It is very thin and light.
You could do a search for au jus too. The restaurant calls it gravy not au jus.

You could always try a pkg of au jus just to try and see if that is it. Then; you can always make it from scratch the next time. That way if it wasn't it ... it only costs $1 or so to try. You could always add some shallots in it too.
I know my gramps used to call au jus gravy. Anything brown served over meat and spuds was gravy in his mind. lol
