We use Fountain, Master Chef, Heinz and some speciality brands with
chillies, garlic, herbs and the like.
Hey, Leggy Peggy, you're back from holiday.
Now don't you really mean to say that Heinz is not the main "tomato sauce" in Australia? LOL
P.S. I got your PM and addy. Thanks. I didn't wanna bug you anymore while vacationing. I did get the recipe translated okay (I think). Thanks dear.

Hi Rosie, I'm not back yet—just have a half decent internet connection tonight.
Home Friday. And I'll be tackling the ketchup.

Don't you mean that you'll be tackling "tomato sauce" when you get back home? LOL Have a good night, dear. I'm just waking up... again... to try and dig out of the driveway. Ugh... "Blizzard" here. Just passed the 8" mark and still snowing and blowing. Let me guess, you're in shorts and a tank top! LOL

Just an FYI: Leggy, Mianbao and others have been helping me translate recipes. These things regarding grams vs volume (Mary), ketchup vs tomato sauce (Peggy), etc.
I won't even get into the grams vs volume, it hurts my brain. But I can tell you why I keep referring to "tomato sauce" here...
AUS "Tomato Sauce" = USA "Ketchup"
AUS "Tomato Concentrate" = USA "Tomato Paste"
AUS "Tomato Puree" = USA "Tomato Sauce"
That's all folks!

Rosie en Peggy -- just read the above posts and I'm laughing. Rosie is so right. In South Africa "ketchup" is ONLY known as tomato sauce in all languages! The word "ketchup" is not used.
Actually, "tomato paste" is "tomato paste" here as well!
And then there's "tomato puree", as in AUS.
Confusing, isn't it?
Our best, tastiest brand by far is All Gold tomato sauce. It really is ALL tomato, no fillers, no additives except something natural like a bit of vinegar and sugar.
By the way -- for Peggy -- watching Australian Masterchef now (an older edition) I see the subtle advertising. Clever. The brand mostly used when the contestants need branded products is Masterfoods. A good brand, too -- we get some of their products in South Africa.

I see you changed the titles for voting from "Heinz" vs "Hunts" to "Heinz" vs "Others"... too funny!
Good morning everyone! (Well, good evening to some)

Good morning Rosie,
I changed the name to others because there are too many ketchup brands out there.
I grew up with Heinz, it was all I knew.

BK: Good morning to you also. Heinz is what I grew up on and also raised my kids on. Yummy!!! That's why when I saw the "blue" ketchup come up, I thought to myself, (regarding the grandkids)... "Nana Rosie is gonna scare the crap out you kiddes"!!! LOL (Sorry Susie).
Zurie: I actually won a trip to Cape Town, but could not afford the gift tax that came along with it, so I never got to go. Someday I want to though. Actually, Johannesburg would be my choice.
I read your bio (sorry).
* I don't even want to Google "Sheep Offal"... sounds bad to start! LOL
* I think your recipe rating system is great. I will think about that the next time I'm reviewing something.
Good day (or evening) to everyone.

Good day Rosie, you could try writing to Heinz Home Office and ask about the colored ketchup, you never know, they may still have some....
