No tats for me either. I like to watch that show where they fix tattoos that were botched. (I forget what it is called, sorry).

I have one tattoo. An angel with his wings extended on my right shoulder blade. It's really quite nice and I'm proud of it.
It's about 20 yo and I spent 8 agonizing hours in one sitting to have it done. After the torture was over she told me I was one tough guy because most people would have done it in three or four sessions. What the what? Why didn't she tell me that after the first minute?
The woman who tatted me was an Art Major at ASU Tempe and she was quite well respected.

No tattoos and I'll share with you the reason(s). I am a post WWII baby and when in the company of my folk's friend and contemporaries, I'd inquire if they had tattoos, their meanings and their feelings years later. To a man, they regretted their decisions to have the tattoo, the design and were embarrassed in their decision.
I've no prejudice regarding tattoos but this has been my history. I was shocked at the unanimity of the verbal reports...not a scientific study, just talking with 50+guys.

I have two - a stylised cat&moon design and the Viking runic compass ( vegvĂsir). Love them.

It probably depends on your definition. In primary school (say aged 10) we decided it would be cool to have some tatts using sharpened paperclips and then poured in some ink from a regular ball-point pen and rubbed it in .
The ink fortunately didn't hold but I still have the scar about 30 years later on my wrist, although so small not the sort of thing anyone would notice or comment on.

I have three: a kitty on the back of my neck; a blue morning glory on my outside ankle; and three stars on the left side of my chest.
And YES... tats on a boney area do hurt the most. The one on my ankle felt like I was giving birth through my ankle. The least painful was the back of my neck. I hardly felt that one.
I love mine and glad I got them. 15-years later and they still look new. But my skin is oily... so I think that helps.

My DD has three and she said the one on top of her foot hurt the most. There's no way I would get one - I'm with K9. I didn't pass out when I got my ears pierced, but did have to sit down on the sidewalk a couple times on the way back to my car. Needles and me just do not mix. I'm a big chicken.

I can't resist, I just have to ask this...
Is there a little devil on your other shoulder...?

I have a small cute lizard on the back of my left shoulder. That's plenty for me.

Top of my foot hurt the worst. That was my second tattoo, it took me a long time to decide on another one. The ones on my inner ankle didn't hurt as much as the outer ankle. And the one on my shoulder blade done by my stepson hurt like heck. He was new, I believe that was only his second tattoo. Or maybe he was just getting back at me for something.

I have a purple pansy on my right ankle, about 1/2". I had it done when I was 40 to celebrate my birthday and divorce.
Frankly, it now (12 years later) kind of looks like a huge mole unless you get up close and really inspect it.
Regrets? Nah, not really. Another? Nope, I'm done.
